Based on Genesis 3: 1-24 Please read the Scripture as I am sharing it from how I imagine it based on the word of God. This is how I envision what happened. I do not add to the Holy Word of God but share it as a Bible Story.
The woman's eyes survey the landscape of the beautiful garden of Eden and her heart is filled with appreciation. The perfection that filles each acre ofthe garden is ( )eathtaking.
She views the man for whom God created her to be helpmeet and her heart is filled with delight. As he lies in the verdant plush greenery. His elbow his bent so that his hand can rest on his palm. She smiles and gives God praise as she looks at this man who is a speciman of divine invention that reflects the image of God. He is the one of allGod's marvelous creation that she can relate because she too is made in the image of God.
Oogling every inch of his his perfect physique and acknowledges that God has created him fearfully and wonderfully made.
She drops down to the grond and places her delicate hand upon his chest and rests her head upon him and experiences true elation.
He touches the tendrils of her beautiful locks that cascade down her back. His nostrils are sstimulated bu the scent of the gardenia that she has resting behind her ear. He smells the scent of the fragrant flower and his heart exults the Lord His creator for His wisdom in not only the beauty of the flower but the woman that He gave Him. He smiles at how God knew without a word from him what He needed to make his world complete.
Suddenly the woman sits up and her eyes glisten with excitement. Let's play a game in which you have to find me in the garden. He is happy to oblige as she enjoys experiencing his jubilation when he discovers where she is in the garden because his heart misses her. They both enjoy em( )acing one another after when he discovers where she is.
Adam covers his eyes and begins to count. As he counts she darts and one of the gazelles plays along with her and she beckons for her to return to Adam as not to spoil the fun of the game. The gazelle honors her as she like Adam reflect God to them as they are made in his image so they obey them without hesitancy.
As she is backing up towards the midst of the garden she hears a voice Psssssssssssst Com mere.
She finds the subtil creature leaning against the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and he holds in his grip a piece of the fruit. He lifts it too his nostrils and from his expression it is easy to ascertain that it is intoxicating. He places the fruit between shimmering white teeth and then lets it drop and he kicks it toward her feet. He then rests one of his limbs on the ( )anch where a piece of the fruit dangles and and he gazes at the fruit with fascination. SSSSSSSSSSo heavenly this fruit smells. He quickly turns his attention to ask her a question,Has God said that you should not eat from any trees of the garden?
She responds immediately God told us that we are not to eat of the tree in the midst of the garden nor should we touch it or we would die.
The cunning creature yields his vocal chords to the unseen foe of God and declares You shall not die for God knows that the day you eat of the fruit you will be like God and will know the difference between good and evil. The cunning creature moves away from the tree and she stares at the tree. She is suddenly drawn away from obeying God because she for the first time is experiencing the lust of the eye as the dangling fruit appeals to her visual senses. Her appetite is stirred to the point that she senses it will be satisfying to her belly and she experiences pride thinking this will meke her wise.Adam rushes up ( )eathless and is so overjoyed to see the woman. There you ahhhh aahhhhre. She bites the fruit and suddenly the world is no longer the same in her eyes. Adams presence doesn't generate innocence but a new desire and she places the fruit at his lips and her voice has a different quality and her eyes view his form differently with a knowledge that defied innocence. Have some Adam. He doesn't resist her hand of distribution and he takes a bite and all of Eden reverberated as the sound of disobedience rocked paradise. All of creation experienced the damage that was done.
Satan the Adversary begins to rejoice. Got him and all his seed. I have dominion now over the world's system because Adam has forfeited it.
In eternity God has already seen the act at the foundation of the world he had planned that His Son would be slain to reconcile him to His creation. So out of eternity He manifests His presence in the cool of the day to fellowship with the man but he sees man hiding and asks Adam where are you?
The man trembling replies to His Creator with fear and trembling I heard the sound of your presence and I hid myself because I was naked.
Who told you you were naked. Did you eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil which I told you not to do
The man pointed to the woman standing next to him. She did it. She gave it to me.
Jehovah is Elohim( God the Creator) who is also called Yahweh asked the woman What is this that you have done?
She answered, The serpent tricked me and I ate it.
God said to the serpent,Because you have done this you shall cursed among all creation. On your belly you shall crawl and lick the dust. I will put enmity between your seed and the woman's seed.
Satan has his hand to his ear and looks puzzled, The seed of a woman..wait a minute the seed is in the male...what does The Most High have up His glory sleeve? He cups hsi ear and listens more closely.
God continues, You will bite the seeds heel but he will crush your head.
Satan realizes the strike will not be to the head of the serpent but his own. He begins to plot how to attach before he is attacked by this so called seed of a woman. He thinks just a matter of semantics and he devises plans to make sure that his head isn['t crushed.
The woman is told that she will bear children in sorrow and the man is told that he will toil by the sweat of his ( )ow all the days of his life and then he will die.
Devotional Writing Related to the Scriptures
Well there you have it. The fall of man. It all stemmed from a decision. You and I make decisions every day and God has created us with the power to choose. We do not operate solely on instinct as animals do but we have a will. In the course of the day you will make hundreds of decisions. Some will seem more important then others. Yet every decision will have a consequence. What time you chose to get up will effect your entire day. What you wear can be very important to an interview outcome or attracting the right or wrong attention. What you wear can communicate to humanity something about yourself even if their opinion is right or wrong. Oh and please don't talk about decisions of what we eat. Oh today I made some decisions in that area that were detrimental to my attempts to shed pounds. Ah the list goes on and on.
Let's just contemplate the decision of the first woman. She chose to disobey God and then became an accomplice to Satan's cunning plan to have men fall from fellowship with God. How did Satan do it? The Bible teaches that all that is in Satan's sytem is the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life which we clearly see he used to entice Eve and she was drawn away of her own lust and ultimately Adam the same. This one decision led to the expulsion of mankind from the garden of Eden which was where man was to live forever in an eternal state in communion with God the Creator.
This decision meant that all who were born of Adam and every human being that is born is born of Adam no matter what generation you are born in are now sinners from birth. The Bible teaches all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that we are born in sin and shaped in iniquity. Some may think this only applies to if you were conceived outside of wedlock but this refers to every human being. All of us were tied up in the loins of Adam so his willful act of disobedience effected all of us. This is the fact of sin not just the act of sin. Because of our fallen nature we do acts of sin but the fact of sin is that we all are sinners by nature because of this decision that was made in the garden.
How did Satan lure this woman into this strategic situation? He eliminated the consequences. He actually deceived her into believing one that God lied. Preposterous. God can't lie. He then deceived her into thinking that God was withholding good from her. Lastly he totally blinded her to the truth as to what God said would be the outcome of disobedience.
He still does the same thing today. Has God said you should not smoke in the Bible? If you don't know exactly what God says you will be able to be deceived. God says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. God tells us to serve him with all of being. So it is safe to conclude that God doesn't want us to do things that are detrimental to the house he gave us to live in on earth. Oh take one puff it won't kill you. Ask me about parents who died of lung cancer. I am not saying this to make any one feel that because they may smoke that God doesn't love them or they can't be redeemed by the blood of Christ but just to make a point about decisions. This decision my parents made years ago effected their lungs and robbed them at the end of their life of vitality. They were believers in Christ but the consequences of their decision had a devastating effect on their bodies. God still was gracious for they had received the Lord before their transition into glory and I believe they live on eternally because the Bible says so.
There are countless situations that we find ourselves in where we are confronted with opportunities where we have to make a decision.
By eliminating consequences, and using deception to vere us from obeying God hundreds of individuals find themselves in situations that they regret.
The children of Israel were in a state of disobedience and were confronted by Joshua and he exclaimed Choose ye this day whom you will serve? A decision had to be made. God wants wholehearted devotion and service. It is clear from this scene wit Joshua and the children of Israel the God of Heaven and Earth doesn't do divided loyalties either you serve Him or you don't. Either you will or you won't. Joshua said As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
As you read this devotional maybe you have made a decision that you know was contrary to the will of God in accordance with his word. You reasoned that oh this won't hurt anyone but I beg to differ. You might be saying I will do it just this one time and now nine months later , or I will just take it and now you are facing a sentence. Don't be deceived. I got deceived myself today. I had several things on the agenda to do but I chose to do another thing and now it is almost one oclock in the morning and the chores I meant to do will still have to be done tomorrow. This decision to do a leisure activity was not a wise one. I fell for the ockey doke as they say. The enemy eliminated the consequence and I fell for it.
Today precious heart I invite you as you are reading to think what is the most important decision you are confronted with. God said What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and then lose his soul. Man's soul was lost after the fall but before the foundation of the world God's son was slain. In essence out of eternity a redemptive plan was set in place so that all could be redeemed. By faith in God's son, the souls of men are redeemed and that one is reconciled to God. What a wonderful decision to make this day.
