Festivals
They have 4 festivals/celebrations a year, their first one is the Festival of Diik'o (English: Flower day) which is the celebration of the first day of Spring, it's their equivilant of Easter. They celebrate by wearing flowery clothing and they dance into the evening. They sing a song called Fund'ri sed'is (In English: Spring flower). Their second festival is the Festival of Pagi'cii which is also known as the Day of the Elders, the cele( )ate the Elders by wearing Bronze clothing and praying at the Wells to thank the Elders for their life now and all the magic they possess. The next celebration is a festival, named Alita'da (English: Family gathering) where every person in a family joins together for one whole week, no matter what and become a whole family. While together they wear clothing with their family symbol on and go out into the streets and sing throughout the the nights. Also, should a child be born during Alita'da it is seen as a blessing from the Elders and that child will bring great things. The last festival is the festival of Fier'de (English: fire) Fire is very special to the people of Aelwynne as hundereds of years ago they had an awful king, King Jir'ot, he made a law making it punishble by death to use fire after his brother Prince Liot'i was killed in a fire. Jir'ot's son un did the law when he became king and the feastival became tradition. It lasts for 3 weeks. The people wear, red, orange and yellow and create large bonfires, some Mage's summon fire spirits (Fi'dior). This festival is one of the most important to the people of Aelwynne. (Will update soon) |
