It was a bright sunny day in November and there was a huge celebration in the kingdom of Camelot because King Arthur and Queen Guinevere had just christned their young baby daughter, Princess Igraine. While a big feast was being held Merlin snuck back to his quarters for some peace and quiet, Merlin had to look after the young princess until a nanny was found and well, that baby never stopped crying! Merlin lied down on his bed for about five minutes until there was a knock at the door, Merlin figured it was a maid to tell Merlin to come back to feast but Merlin couldn't have been more wrong.

He opned the door to see that no one was there, then he heard a small gurgiling noise and looked down, there, in a small wicker basket, wrapped in a soft,yellow blanket was a tiny baby with a note that read:

Merlin,

This is your daughter, she has no name and was born just after the princess on the 30th of May. I cannot look after her, give her a home.

There was no name on the note so Merlin had no idea who the babes mother was, He gently picked the small child up and looked at her face to find that she a pair of sapphire eyes and beautiful golden curls, " Hello here little one, your name is Raven and I'm your father!" Merlin said calmly yet cheerfully.

Merlin jumped when " Merlin, you better have a good explanation for this." he heard Arthur say, " She was outside the door in a basket, she's my daughter"

"Don't be ridiculous Merlin!" Arthur said in return, Merlin handed him the note tat came with Raven, when Arthur finished reading he looked shell shocked. " I suppose we should tell Gaius and Gwen then" Arthur said with a smile

"yes I suppose so" Merlin agreed.

Gaius was not very pleased.
