THE ACADEMY
HISTORY
- the academy was founded a few years after the changing
- its real purpose/alliance is unknown
- the location is unknown
- the academy is privately funded
- the entire academy uses biotechnology, from scanning students’ microchips to allow access to specialized training equipment to teachers linking classrooms to students and more
EDUCATION
- all students are trained in typical school subjects (english, language, mathematics, statistic, biology/chemistry/physics, and history—though no students know if the version of history they are taught is true)
- arts/music can be done in a student’s own time
- additionally, students must be trained in strategy and military tactics, biotechnology, computer science, psychology/neuroscience, weapon-making, design, architecture, and other electives
- classes are scheduled in rotations
- a student must pass every single class to graduate
- additionally, students must learn to use three types of weapons in the shooting range and weapons bay: guns, knives/blades, and biotechnology
- students pass this training on a case-by-case basis, through academy officials’ evaluations
- four times a week, students must train in arena 2 or arena 3
- includes normal exercising like cardio, weight-lifting, etc. as well as specialized exercising like swimming, gymnastics, etc.
- once a week, students must go through training simulators
- these pod-like machines simulate battle or other types of situation, and are used to evaluate tactical learning as well as to build a psychological profile of each student
- the students lay down in the simulators and are hooked up to the machines through their neck microchips
- once a week, students must train in arena 3 and work on using/honing their devs
- once a week, students must fight each other in the main arena (arena 0)
STAFF
- each area of study has one teacher (ex: one teacher teaches biology/chemistry/physics, one teacher teaches english/language, etc.)
- above the teachers is the headmistress and headmaster
- above the headmistress and headmaster is a mysterious council, whose actual identities are never revealed
- there are also trainers who train the students in weaponry, regular exercise, and dev control
- there are also scientists/researchers who are responsible for creating and maintaining simulations, creating training programs, creating biotechnology used in the school, and more
- the academy also has guards, to prevent the students from making trouble or escaping
- all of the other staff (janitors, chefs, etc.) is supposed to remain unseen
PROGRAMMING
- all students come from the outside of the academy (approximately 100 students in total)
- all students are 16-22 alt individuals, each with a different deviate(s)
- students are sedated and taken to the academy
- once there, they go through initial processing. this includes:
- induced mild amnesia (students will not remember their previous lives or how they got to the academy)
- implantation of a microchip in base of neck with GPS tracking, body statistics recorder, electrical shock capabilities, and more
- this chip will explode and kill the student with a contained shockwave if the student steps out of line
- implantation of a microchip in non-dominant wrist
- this contain’s all the student’s education information (grades, access levels, etc.)
- all outside traces are removed
- student’s body is cleaned and decontaminated
- student is given nutrients/vitamins they may have been lacking
- any surface problems (cavities, rashes, etc.) are fixed
- while still unconscious, the students are transported to be given a tour, as well as to learn the school’s history and rules
- they then move into the living bay. the living bay is organized into dorm rooms that contains a group of five students
- each student is provided with standard issue clothing, including uniforms, training outfits, and battle suits
- then they are tested in the arena so the school officials can record and understand their deviate
- students then begin life as a normal student of the academy, including education, training, simulation, and evaluation
- once students have completed the academy’s program by passing all their classes, receiving all certifications, etc., they are graduated and removed from campus
- their fate is unknown by the rest of the students
CAMPUS
- the general architecture of the academy is clean and modern
- there are many parts of the academy untouched by biotechnology and unknown to many
- secret tunnels, crawl spaces, etc.
- classrooms/halls
- there is one classroom for each class taught at the academy
- there are also halls for anything to do with strategy and military tactics, biotechnology, and weaponry
- each class is taught in groups of desks
- there are ten desks, each with biotechnological capabilities
- each wall in the classroom can be written on, projected on, or otherwise used biotechnologically
- quad
- this is the main area where students hang out
- the quad is comprised of an outdoor component with grass/gardens and an indoor part with lounge furniture
- arena/training simulators
- there are three training arenas
- 1. arena 1 looks like a regular gym, with exercise equipment
- 2. arena 2 includes a track and a wide open space in the middle to be used for various purposes (pole vaulting, gymnastics, even ice skating, etc.)
- 3. arena 3 contains spaces for training students’ devs
- there’s also a pool
- connected to the training arenas is a shooting range and a weapons bay
- the main arena (arena 0) is where students are assessed by academy officials
- underground
- the underground is under the academy
- students may only enter through one door behind the training facilities, and only school staff can scan them through
- the underground is where the simulators are held in the simulation bay
- however, the simulation bay is not the only thing in the underground
- the rest is a mystery to students, but many speculate there are research labs and experiments
- living bay
- the living bay has a main common area for students with couches, chairs, and tables
- the main common area has twenty doors shooting off from it, one for each set of five students
- a student can only enter a dorm by scanning their wrist microchip, and if their identity matches up they will be allowed access into the room
- students live together in groups of five, and are normally organized by age
- there’s one main room for each set of five with desks, dressers, closets, mirrors, etc., and then five smaller rooms with just beds inside)
- library
- the library has books, but also other resources students may need
- any topic pertaining directly to outside the academy or forbidden material is strictly prohibited
- the library has study spaces and private rooms
- the library is the darkest, coziest spot in the school
- eating bay
- this is where all students are fed in the academy
- the eating bay has many different lengths of rectangular tables
- there’s a lot of greenery and many tall glass windows
- main lawn
- the main lawn circles the academy and runs through the quad
- about a hundred feet out in either direction from the academy, there is a biotech wall
- no students are permitted past this point
- health bay
- this is the area where sick/injured students are taken care of
- the health bay is very light, open, airy and bright, with lots of beds/cots
- all of the medical equipment is kept in a separate area from the area students are able to access
FASHION
- school uniform:
- these uniforms are worn during the school day
- girls: black pleated skirt, gray sweater with white shirt beneath, black blazer with school crest on right pocket, and maroon tie
- guys: black slacks, gray sweater with white shirt beneath, black blazer with school crest on right pocket, and maroon tie
- most personalize this uniform
- ex: talia wears black knee socks, cara wears a choker, etc.
- students are also given a variety of clothing (pants, sweaters, t shirts) with the school colors and logo to wear outside of class and training
- training clothing:
- this clothing is worn during training sessions
- each student/trainee is given a wide variety of clothing to choose from
- all neutral colors, and have the school’s crest somewhere
- must be fitted tight to body to prevent clothing-related mishaps; made out of breathable, light fabric that still clings to the body
- leggings, joggers, workout pants, tight fitting tops of all cuts and styles, sports bras, etc.
- sturdy shoes with a good grip are mandatory (most go with sneakers)
- some students also may use specialized items, like gloves/masks/headgear/harnesses/goggles etc.
- some students are given specialized training clothing
- ex: talia has considerable gymnastic skill, therefore was given a leotard
- long hair is to be braided or pulled back
- fighting uniforms/battle suits:
- these suits are worn during evaluations or simulations
- do not contain the school’s logo
- all black
- fabric is durable, sturdy, and structured, slightly thick but not impairing, and comes with technology that regulates body temperature/functions and is heat/damage resistant
- i imagine the fabric to be some combination of neoprene, kevlar, leather, and spandex (if you can imagine that)
- all uniforms are long sleeved, and show no skin besides the head, neck, and fingers
- all uniforms are mostly fitted to the body, though each one is personalized
- each uniform comes with a ton of panels/pockets to conceal weapons or other supplies
- each uniform comes off and on with zippers
- each uniform includes sturdy boots
- NO HEELS OR OPEN TOES. AT ALL.
- many come with add-on harnesses/straps/holsters
- but no unnecessary strappy stuff
- each suit is integrated with biotechnology
- it is possible for a student to be assigned more than one fighting uniform, depending on devs
- casual:
- outside of the academy, all students would have different personal tastes/aesthetics when it comes to outfits
- most wear futuristic-type street wear
