For a different book I will also probably never put on the site. Set in a fantasy world, similar to earth but not identical. I might actually end up putting this one on the site; I'm just hesitant because so many of my stories end up unfinished.

AS OF 29/6/2016 THIS SECTION IS UNDERGOING EDITS!
There have been several changes to countries etc. so this information should be changing fairly soon and I may be re-uploading new stuff in its place. Please bear with me as I put the changes in place, I hope to have most of them done by september. <( ) />
This is very very much under construction and is undergoing heavy changes at the moment so it's a bit confusing and should hopefully be made more clear later. Stuff is being added, changed and removed on a regular basis.
TITLES OF MONARCHS
In the world I have invented, they use titles differently than us (by which I mean they do not use kings or queens, instead using different names for them). I know nothing about our current ranking system, so this may make no sense at all in terms of the way I phrased the rankings in our way of speaking. It shouldn't be that hard to follow, I hope; it is just meant to show how important they would be. The title progresses differently than it does in many countries on earth; The son of the King inherits first, then daughters of the king, then ( )others of the king, then sisters, then children of ( )others, then children of sisters and so on.
Kemris : This is their equivalent to a king.
Kemra : Queen
Ksern : Prince
Ksema : Princess
Kyrith : Similar to a duke. Usually ( )other or sister to the Kemris or Kemra or cousins of the Kserns and Ksemas. They tend to rule over a large area or be a member of the royal family.
Karaline : Female equivalent to Kyrith. Duchess.
Rei : Similar to a Count or Earl. Male title. They tend to rule over a district within the area that a Kyrith controls.
Rainha : Female version of a Rei.
Ksorma : Used for both male and female. Similar to a Viscount. They would rule a smaller area then a Rei.
Kemyin : Similar to a Baron. Used for males and females. They would have one of the smallest areas.
Navra : Lowest ranking noble title. They are ususally still wealthy.
Karalis : This is an honorary title; it is usually used when someone who was in power is demoted or something of the type, or when a non-noble becomes noble through marriage.

KSEMAE
The world in which Aloria is. The world is large and varied, and has many different peoples and customs. The world is very much like earth in the early renassiance/late medieval earth. There is magic and it is somewhat common, but magic or not between the ages of fourteen and seventeen everyone in Ksemae recives what is known as a Mark. It appears as a symbol on the inside of a persons arm and remains there for their entire life. The cause is unknown to scholars, but it is usually attributed to the gods choosing people for their talents. There are many types of Marks and they are quite varied, with certain countries favoring certain types and certain countries favoring others.
[more on marks further down]
ALORIA
ROYAL FAMILY
The current rulers are Kemris Evyin Kslern II and Kerma Selvra Kslern.
The current heir is Ksema Jemra Kslern, who is the daughter of Kemris. *
*Some argue that Karalis Emira Epris or Navra Demyin Imyi should be second in line for the throne. Emira is the daughter of Kemris by his first wife; after their divorce Emira was unable to inherit the throne due to the divorce. Demyin was the child of Evyin's mistress, who died giving birth to him. Evyin granted him an honorary noble title, but many of the subjects, particularily commoners, argue that Demyin has as much right to inherit the throne as Jemra.
COUNTRY
People: The race in this world is almost identical to ours. Aloria is a sort of humanity salad, with people from almost every country coming there due to its relative prosperity. The normal people usually have an olive complexion and ( )own or green eyes, with ( )own or black hair. They are usually tanned due to most people working outdoors as farmers and usually do a fair bit of physical work. Fashions of commoners tends to be simple, with mainly light colours being favored. Women usually wear dresses except at harvest season. Fashion of nobles tends to be reds and oranges in dark shades. Men tend to wear a simple shirt with an elaborate dress coat overtop. The style resembles tudor style slightly, but the coats tend to have a slightly narrower cut and there is less shoulder padding. Hats are common among all people but more common among nobles. Female nobles tend to wear dresses, but their style is somewhere between tudor and a more medieval style, with the dresses rarely having ruffs, the sleeves being slightly tighter and less fancy and the dresses tending to be slightly narrower than a more tudor style.
Economy : They rely heavily on farming and trade, especially with countries across the ocean as they border the calmest areas.
Government : As listed above, they are a monarchy that allows both males and females to inherit (but males are prefered). They also have an elected council that has some power and gives advice to the Kemris
Army: They have a medium sized army but a very large navy as they are quite prone to attacks from pirate groups and raiding parties from other countries. They aren't particularily militaristic and they focus more on peace and trade.
Society: It is quite similar to our renaisance society save slight segregation due to the Marks. Certain villages are made up only of people with a certain Mark and others are more varied. It is less segregated than other societies in the area but there is still a heavy division between Mages and other members of the society, with Mages being both revered and feared. Females are valued almost equally to males but are still often treated as objects and are (mostly) married off rather than them staying in the family. Marriages can be arranged at any time but usually occur at birth, five or fifteen, and they usually marry between the ages of sixteen and twenty. Having more than a ten year gap in between the ages is usually frowned upon, especially if the girl is under the age of seventeen.
Marks: The most common mark in Aloria is known as the Tlers. It tends to be a common mark across the world and was originally considered to be a weak Mark before the Great War and the Alorians had a powerful female general with the Mark, when the opinion was changed. Other common Marks are Shyre, Ksret, Jemyit, Loryin and the Mark of the Mage. They are relatively accepting of those with different Marks but are often fearful of those who recive the Mark of the Necromancer and often refuse to let them into their cities.
Religion: Their religious ideals are actually more similar to those of Romans and Greeks than to Christianity or Judaism. They have many gods who each represent a different thing and often Marks are attributed to them.
Foriegn policy: They are largely peaceful and have good relations with their different neighbours.
PEOPLE OF ALORIA
JEMRA KSLERN
Title : Ksema Jemra Kslern of Aloria (a mouthful)
Age : 14
Gender : Female
God : Prays to Kirutni, leader of the gods
Status : Crown princess / Ksema
Description : Short, roughly 5'1 and slender. She has green eyes and medium ( )own hair that is long but worn up due to her status. She has light skin that has been tanned due to her intrest in the outdoors. She has a small, heart shaped face and likes to wear red, patterned dresses. Her father is king of Aloria and her mother hails from Senria to the south.
Personality : She is a bit of an overachiver and will do anything to stay in her fathers good graces. She is a bit judgemental, slightly harsh and often a bit b.ratty, but is generally a good person and doesn't stick with her opinions for long. She is a bit sheltered, but not stupid and catches on quickly. She is sometimes manipulative and reasonably smart, but she is a generally good person and avoids being manipulative if at all possible. She loves the outdoors, animals and learning new things, and enjoys learning new languages. She is usually reasonably friendly, but hates her half-sister Emira and half-b.rother Demyin and tries hard to bully them. She is scared of failing her father or having herself deposed from her position as crown princess. She is currently not in an arranged marriage and does not have a realtionship with anyone. She is slightly greedy and wants the throne quite badly but tries to hide it behind kind words and a happy face.
Family : Her father is Kemris Evyin Kslern II of Aloria, her mother Kemra Selvra Kslern of Senria. The queen before her mother, Tiya Epris of Carya is Emira's mother, who was divorced from Evyin shortly before Jemra was born. There was a second queen in between her mother and Selvra, but she died while pregnant with Evyin's child. Her half ( )other is Demyin, who was the child of one of Evyin's mistresses who was given title after the death of his mother. Evyin is fond of Demyin, and Jemra is scared that one day Evyin will give him title instead of her.
EMIRA EPRIS
Full title : Karalis Emira Epris of Aloria and Carya
Age : 16
Gender : Female
God : prays to Ksarnme, god of death and trickery
Status : Karalis in Aloria, Ksema in Carya, but only by name; she is unable to inherit the throne due to her birth in Aloria.
Description : Tall, average weight, pale with blond hair and light skin. She has large eyes and central heterochromia, with blue eyes with a ring of amber around the middle. This is common for people in Carya, and she inherited it from her mother. She has a round face and prominent nose. She likes wearing long dresses in green, blue and red, and never shows very much skin with her dresses. They tend to be plain and simple; her sister calls her 'fashionless' and most of the women in the court agree with her. She dresses in the traditional style of Carya; dark colours and dresses that don't widen a lot at the hips. She tends to avoid lace. Her sister often makes fun of her liking of dark green, telling her that green is the colour of jealousy.
Personality : Reserved and cool. She is very clever and knows many languages, and often wears an 'idiot face' in the court and pretends to not know what people are talking about. She is neither kind nor unkind and doesn't answer to anyone but herself. She has a lot of intrest in the dealings at court and she and her half-( )other have become figureheads of a sort for the poorer folk of the nation due to them both being denied inheritance despite them both being the children of Evyin. She lives in the palace due to her father believing that while she is 'illegitimate', she is still family and as forth should be treated as a royal. She is set in her ways and is a bigger beliver in equality than her father and sister. She doesn't seem to be scared of anything, though she is really scared of anyone discovering the treasonous thoughts that she has towards her father and sisters. She doesn't respond to her sister's taunts but is secretly very envious of her and her half-cousins due to the fact that they are still eligible for the throne and is enraged that her father denied her inheritance. She hates being called feminine and often refuses to wear a corset even though that is very uncommon.
Family : She is the daughter of Kemris Evyin Kslern II of Aloria and her mother is Tiya Epris of Carya. Her parents were divorced when she was twelve and was downgraded from her role as crown princess to a noble in title only. Her mother left her behind when she returned to Carya, despite her pleas to b.ring her with her. Her mother left her behind in hoping that she would be reinstated or be able to claw her way to queendom on her own.
DEMYIN
Full title : Namra Demyin Imyi of Aloria
Age : 17
Gender : Male
God : N/A
Status : Low ranking noble in title only. Child of Evyin's first and only mistress.
Description : Looks very much like his half-sister Emira; both of their mothers were from Carya and were in fact cousins. He is pale, fair-haired and like his sister he has central heterochromia. He has a more diamond-shaped face than his sister and a straighter nose, as well as slightly darker hair. Unlike his half-sister, he dresses in the Alorian style, which tends to be a simple-ish shirt with a fancy coat overtop. Like his half-sisters, he likes darker colours. He is quite tall and slender like his sister.
Personality: Like his sister, he is reserved and quiet and he is slightly less ambitious than his sister. He has a reasonably kind nature but is somewhat scheming and doesn't like it when people notice the other, more unpleasant parts of his character. He hates his and Emira's father more than Emira does but hides it as he is trying to work his way into his father's good graces. He doesn't worship a god and doesn't believe that they truely exist. He hates the heat and hates going outdoors and as a result is much paler than most Alorians, who tend to be quite tanned and are often outdoors. He dislikes small dogs but loves large dogs and often visits the kennels at the palace. He is rather proud and dislikes being ridiculed, which is unfortunately a bit uncommon for him since he is looked down upon by other nobles.
Family: He resides in the palace but has very little contact with anyone other than his sister and his father, the Kemris. He is attempting to worm his way into his father's good books in the hopes that his father will give him a larger inheritance.
[I will add more characters later but am currently more focused on the world]
CARYA
Carya lies to the north of Aloria and they are seperated from one another by a mountain range. Carya is a large country that has geography close to current-day Scotland, Finland or Norway (but with fewer trees), with many hills and meadows but small forests. As a result they do a lot of mining but are largely self-sufficient, being able to grow enough food to support them but do obtain some money through trade.
