While gemstones are precious and crystal is pure,
The light that's reflected is what holds allure.
For all gemstones' glitter and all crystal's shine,
True beauty is found in that light so divine.

~ Planet Kleurenárcus ~
Kleurenárcus [klur-en-ahr-cuhs] is a ringed, crystal-coated planet whose sun is a red giant star. The planet is located on the other side of a black hole in a parallel universe. While the red giant sun rules the day, the two moons of Kleurenárcus stand guard at night. The smaller of the two moons is made of translucent white crystal, and reflects the red sun's rays to glow with a soft pink light. The larger moon has a surface much like that of Earth's moon, but it instead is a cool turquoise or blue-green in color. The smaller crystal moon passes in front of the larger turquoise one during the course of its orbit, and it orbits Kleurenárcus at a slightly faster pace than its larger neighbor.

The surface of Planet Kleurenárcus is made up of rich, indigo-violet soil covered by a layer of natural crystal. While the thickness of the crystal layer as well as the fertility of the soil underneath varies based on location and climate, the layer of crystal is generally about 6 inches (human measurement) thick.
The plants of the crystal planet have roots that extend down into the rich soil underneath the crystal layer and flowering buds and leaves that break up through to the top of the crystal layer to soak up the planet's liquid crystal rain.

The flora of Kleurenárcus is varied based on climate and location, but most trees and plants have white bark with a faint silvery sheen and light blue leaves. There are a couple of rare forests on the planet consisting of trees and plants with leaves of all the colors of the rainbow and bark with golden or opalescent sheens to the wood, and they are considered natural wonders. All leaves, regardless of color or type of plant, have an iridescent shimmer to them, and different varieties of plants tend to iridesce in different colors. During Kleuréan [klur-eh-en] autumns, the leaves will lose their iridescence and turn a variety of colors: ivory, dark blue, rich violet, and deep magenta are the primary fall leaf colors seen. Throughout the long Kleuréan nights, the plants also glow in varying colors and patterns, depending on the species. Dead leaves that have fallen from the trees in the autumn no longer glow, but instead become reflective.

The fauna of Kleurenárcus is generally more vibrant in color than that of Earth, though the exact colors and skin types (scales vs. fur) of the animals vary based on location on the planet. All Kleuréan animals, regardless of whether they are reptiles, mammals, birds, or fish, have some type of jewel embedded within them somewhere. Different species have different types of jewels with varying opacities, hues, and lusters, and it's also common for one species to have a wide variety of colors of its gem. (Ex: The entire Kleuréan bird species might have a diamond as its gem, but different subspecies of birds would have different colored diamonds - an owl might have a blue diamond, while an eagle would have a white diamond, etc. *Just an example; not set in stone*) The animals with the rarest, most precious gems are often poached for their gemstones, which is one of the current leading causes of species extinctions, though there are a few preserves set up by some of the wealthier Surface Tribes in an attempt to prevent this.
*Stay tuned: More to come! :D *
