#GetInspired - THE MOVEMENT- Info/FAQ

WHAT IS IT?

The '#GetInspired' movement, created by me, aims to turn DD into more of an artistic and creative place for us all to have fun in, subtracting our current focus of popularity, crowns, comments and follows. Please join if you feel like creativity is more important than popularity, and we should all treat everyone as an equal - whether they have 1 or 10000 followers, and we should try and be more generous and thoughtful with our crowns. 

HOW DID IT HAPPEN?

I was on a haitus for almost a year, having left temporarily several times. But on this occasion, I was depressed for a long time and had severe anxiety. Just after I recovered, I got diagnosed with SCD - 'Social Communications Disorder' - a form of autism, and more importantly a mental disorder. Upon returning to Doll Divine, I felt almost new to community. I created a contest page explaining my troubles, telling everyone how we should forget about popularity and be proud of our own work - unique and fantastic works of art - even if they get 2 crowns. Because crowns do not mean what people think of you as person - and this is what I came to think, unfotunately, it came to the point where I was making dolls and using a private account to secretly crown them  just for the sheer enjoyment of seeing me on the beloved page with loads of 'fake' crowns. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels the same. Crowns can make you happy or sad, and so can follows, comments and favourites, but the don't tell you how awesome you really are!!!

SO YOU THINK CROWNS ETC ARE WORTHLESS AND BAD?

No, no! I don't thinks crowns are bad, I just think it's bad when that's all people tend to care about popularity here on DD and nothing else but that. Even when I joined 2 years ago, I got the feeling that people tend to care more about crowns and follows, as well as being jealous of dollers with loads of attention, instead than making beautiful peices of art and having fun - and this is what I came to feel over time - I got angry and offended when I didn't get much attention.

A large part of the movement is actually giving out crowns, comments, faves and follows for kindness too, even if you don't even know the person or if it is someone random from the 'Newest Dolls' section - JUST TO BE KIND AND SPREAD HAPPINESS AROUND DD TO MAKE THIS ALREADY GREAT COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE!!!! :D YEAH!!!!
