So...this is kind of a song I'm working on, but it also works as a poem. Note that it is a work in progress.
There's an angel that waits at the garden's gates,
with a sword that shines like the sun.
Said the snake with a grin, "Well it may be a sin,
but this knowledge is awfully fun."
To the woman in red, "You may strike at my head
but I'll always be there at your feet."
To the man, "It's your loss, I'll meet you at the cross,
and we'll see who's the bluff and the cheat."

Noah saved from the flood, by the covenant's blood,
will lead you to new drier land.
Abram look to the sky, your house never shall die,
with children that number like sand.

With the rod and the staff, make clear for them a path,
and cut through the ocean of red.
Forty years shall you walk for your blasphemous talk.
At the journey's end you all shall be dead.
Mighty Sampson is strong, but he'll see when he's wrong,
pull the temple down onto your head.
Great King David shall see, when he keeps faith in Me,
even giants shall fall before him dead.

Mother Mary, no fear, for you see I am here,
to bring you great tidings of joy.
For your faith in the Lord, here shall be your reward,
Son Jesus, a bright baby boy.
Abused, beaten, betrayed, is the price to be paid,
For your sins this child must die.
He will set all people free, and his last words shall be:
"Eli lema sabachthani?"

ehhh...not too sure how happy I am with this one. It feels like I'm a little lost on where I'm going with it, or what I'm trying to say. Might change it as inspiration hits me. Might not.
