Wikipedia: Gothic fiction, which is largely known by the subgenre of Gothic horror, is a genre or mode of literature and film that combines fiction and horror, death, and at times romance.
When I want gothic dolls, I don't mean just someone in a blue, black, purple etc. dress. Gothic isn't like horror, but it's still meant to scare you.
The best examples I can think of are Dracula, Frankenstein, The Woman In Black, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, The Yellow Wallpaper, basically any Stephen King book, etc.
Not-too-scary Urban legends also count as gothic. For instance 'Up to Scratch' would be gothic, while slenderman would be horror.
