Yeeeeah, I put my OC into the Hunger Games... I've been doing that a lot with my characters lately.. Her story is a blend of HG, Transformers and her original story.
Her name is Elena Mason (can't think of another last name :S). She lives in District 2 with her parents. Her father Dominic is a respected builder/architect. Her mother Nola was one of the most acclaimed hand-to-hand combatants to ever graduate from the academies, though she never volunteered.
She's 13 years old and also academy-trained. She specializes in the same skills as her mother, having been trained one-on-one by her since she was very young. She is very introverted and hates socializing with the arrogant assholes she's forced to endure daily in class.
Now for the TF part of the story; imagine the Auto's and Con's arrived on Earth much earlier. They retrieve the cube, destroy Megatron with the cube and move onto another planet. But this time, his body is left in the ocean to the west of the continent, much closer to District 2...
Imagine a second, undetected shard dislodged itself from Megatron's sparkchamber and travelled through the ocean, eventually washing up on the beach where a 9 year Elena picked it up. All the power transferred over to her (not dropping it like Sam does in TF2), absorbing all it's information. She had a severe migraine for a moment, symbols flashing through her vision before it dissipated.
She goes home, resting for a while.
Everything is normal.
Until she touches the watch.
She only intended to check the time. But she didn't know the 'special rock' had given her the ability to create Cybertronians with a touch. So imagine her surprise when a tiny metal creature starts running around the room, destroying stuff. In a panic, she yells for it to stop, not noticing the unusual clicks and sounds that came out instead (cybertronix). Since she contained allspark power, it listened to her. She took it to her mom and dad, who told her she would have to keep it hidden away, lest Peacekeepers find it and assume they're D13 rebels, having them executed, etc.
The 'bot says to Elena it can change back, turning back to a normal watch. Her father says she can keep it now.
Things go normally for 4 years. Elena befriends the mechanical creature, naming it Sony and taking it everywhere.
After the incident, Nola makes her daughter wear gloves 24/7 around machinery, not wanting a repeat of what happened. She regularly experiences migraines and has episodes where she talks and writes in the other language without her knowledge, which her parents buy medication for.
She continues training with her mom, gaining skill fast. Now 13, she's soon to experience her 2nd Reaping Day. She only has 2 entries and doesn't plan to volunteer ever, but she trains anyway, knowing the high likelihood of spiteful teens leaving her to die if she is reaped just to spite her.
As she predicted, she was picked that year, and no-one volunteered in her place. Her panic only kicked in when she was taken into the Justice Building. They wouldn't let her take her scrappy old gloves, much less wear them in the Arena. What if she touched something and it transformed? What if the tracker changed inside her and crawled out in front of Peacekeepers? What if they witnessed one of her episodes and thought something was suspicious?
Her parents tried to calm her nerves and warned her to be extra careful when over there. Sony spoke discretely, saying earth machines wouldn't be able to detect it's a 'bot when in watch form, so she should take it as her token.
Things go smoothly in the Capitol for the first few days. She manages to convince her stylist to give her gloves for her public appearances and wears them when relaxing in her room. Her Prep team witness one of her episodes, but are too confused to be suspicious; one gives her great pills for the migraines.
Finally, she ends up in the hovercraft heading to her arena. She's relieved when the tracker doesn't change in her arm.
She survives for a long time without incident. She's killed 2 kids so far, even had yet another episode, but she was far from any others when it happened. It's only when the 2nd attack happens that things go badly wrong.
Someone was in the area hunting her down. She tried to run, but panic set in and she fell, sending a shockwave of allspark energy through the ground, shutting off every camera in the area. Sony, not wanting it's master to be killed, transformed and killed the tribute.
Meanwhile, new camera bot's were now rampaging through the arena, decimating every living creature they came across, including the tributes.
Everyone in Panem saw the camera 'bots at some point or another, but the commentators were ordered to pass them off as muttations gone wrong, while higher-up officials in the games grew suspicious when they noticed none of the creatures attempted to hurt Elena.
Though at home, her parents were terrified, knowing she was pretty much screwed unless she can lie her way out of an execution.
Keeping up the facade for the nation, they congratulated Elena on her win, dressing her up, conducting interviews, etc.
Once they had everyone absolutely convinced she was on the train, heading home to her new life of riches and opulence, they dragged her into an Interrogation room, asking endlessly about her connection with the creatures while she tried to convince them she wasn't a D13 spy.
What happens after that is a mystery... |
