Hello there! If you're reading this, you're probably interested in joining The 5th cycle of Urban Chic DDNTM, hosted by me! In this story, I will explain the basics of how this will work, and my version of the rules. As well, I'll give you a few tips on making your dolls :) Ok, let's start!
A few things:
-This should be pretty clear but I'm going to say it anyway: You are given a specific model and must keep the model throughout the competition. This competition spans over a longer period of time, with seperate rounds. Most rounds will be elimination, so whoever has the least crowns or whoever doesn't make their doll will be eliminated. All the dolls must be made on Urban Chic!!!
-Be polite to other contestants! I don't want to hearing anything like "My doll is so much better than yours!" or something like that. Throughout DDNTM I haven't seen anything like that, but I wanted to make it clear. There will be a 2 strike policy. If you say something like that for the first time, you will be given a warning. If it happens again, you will be kicked out of the competition. I don't expect that to happen, but it needs to be said. It's nice if you C&C at least one other entry every round, but of course it's up to you.
-Please only sign up if you plan on competing! Many times people will sign up and forget about it! If anybody doesn't enter the first round, the model they chose will be open for someone else to sign up for the 2nd round and after. The 1st round will not be elimination!
-Please use drag and drop! This is a chance to improve you skills and show off your ideas, don't be afraid to try something new!
-This is how the giving of themes will work: First round you will have 1 week before the upload date to make it, and then a week after it to get your dolls in (you can make it anytime during those 2 weeks. On the upload day of the first round, you will get your second theme. The day after the end day of the first round, will be the 2nd round's upload day! PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD BEFORE THE UPLOAD DATE. YOU CAN UPLOAD AFTER, BUT NOT BEFORE!!!
-Follow your sub-theme!!! Sometimes the main theme of the round will be something wide-ranged like "Fruits", and then you'll be given a specific thing that fits in that category. If your assigned fruit is let's say strawberry, don't make a peach inspired dress!!!
-Sometimes you will have a requirement, (e.g. Main theme: Fruits, Sub-theme: Strawberry, Requirement: Hair accessory) You MUST include this requirement!!! 1 crown will be taken off your total for the week if you don't!
-For the period of time when the rounds are non-elimination, if you miss 1 week you can continue the contest even if you didn't make a doll for that week, but if you miss two weeks you will be eliminated.
-DO NOT ENTER DDNTM DOLLS THAT ARE FOR THE CURRENT ROUND YOU ARE ON IN THE C&C GAME OR ASK PEOPLE TO GIVE YOU CROWNS ON THE DOLL IF YOU WIN A PRIZE IN A CONTEST. THIS IS UNFAIR. BUT, IF THE ROUND THE DOLL IS FOR IS OVER, THAN FEEL FREE.
MODELS:
Before the rounds start, I will be opening sign-ups (which will be in the contest pages), which will have 15 models to choose from. When I say that sign-ups are open, you may go to the sign-ups and say which model you choose. Once a model has been chosen, I'll write who chose the model in the title of the doll, and then I'll untag that model from the contest. Once all 15 models are chosen, we will begin!
When you choose your model, in the description you will have a guide that has things like eye colour, hair colour, and stuff like that. YOU MUST FOLLOW IT!
You CANNOT Change:
-Eye colour
-Hair colour (if the model has an omb.re, you must keep the omb.re with the same colour. Unless you have a very specific reason to change it. Please ask me beforehand!)
-Skin colour
-Freckles/Mole (If your model has either of these you MUST keep it)
You MAY Change/Add:
-Eyeb.row shape
-Lip Shape
-You can add makeup (Lip colour, eye shadow, eyeliner, blush,e tc.)
-You can change hairstyle/Length
-You can add streaks of colour. NOT omb.re!
-Outfit of course!!!
♡Tips/Tricks♡
-Use reference/inspiration! There is no problem with looking for ideas on the internet, or using a photo to get certain things accurate! This will help you a lot!
-Use drag and drop! Even if you don't add a whole bunch, it will make your doll unique and help portray your theme better!
-Think of new ways to portray your theme! If, like my other examples, your theme was strawberry, you don't neccessarily need to make her a giant strawberry costume, you could always do a high fashion strawberry inspired design. That being said, perhaps you want to make a strawberry costume, and that's awesome too! All I'm saying is that you should consider a few different ideas, and decide what you think will work best!
-Upload on the upload date, or as soon as you can after! This will give you more time to collect crowns.
-Make some practice dolls! Some round may require a repo, or other stuff like that, so it's good practice to try these things out before the contest starts. This also lets you develop a personality, backstory, and/or style for your model, if you'd like.
