BACKSTORY


Describe their childhood (newborn - age 10): Not much is known about Morpheus’s life pre-Teagan. He showed up on Teagan’s doorstep when he was about six, claimed his name was Morpheus, and demanded a place to stay. Teagan hesitantly brought the child inside, called the police, and tried to get information out of him. Morpheus said little, and merely claimed to like Teagan. The police instigated an incredibly short investigation (it’s believed Morpheus tampered with them in some way), and Teagan chose to adopt Morpheus shortly thereafter. Teagan tried to be a pretty good father, even though he wasn’t quite ready to raise a kid (he was only 24 at the time); he quickly learned about Morpheus’s ability and rigorously enforced rules about usage.

Describe their teenage years (11 - 19): Morpheus began to get bullied in middle school for his stand-offish ways. The bullying became physical, and try as he might to follow Teagan’s rules, he broke and caused his bullies to envision their worst nightmares. They never bothered him again, and Morpheus entered high school happily alone once again.
