As a longstanding member of dolldivine, a forum moderator, and a friend of Ola, I feel it's my duty to reinstate the beta commenting rules that were posted back on the Pixie Maker, but haven't been posted on beta games since. Of course, this isn't the original list, but something that everyone should read and consider if you want to be a helpful beta tester.
1) Please read the previous comments before posting. If your suggestion has been mentioned by another user, please "heart" their comment instead of writing your own. A dozen posts with the same message clutters up the comment section, and it's easiest for Ola to see how much a suggestion is wanted by simply looking at the likes on that one post.
2) Think about the theme of the game before suggesting new items. Would you see dinosaurs in a wedding game? Please don't ask for weird items that would have no place in the game. This also applies to really specific items that you need for one of your characters - the comment section is for suggesting items that everyone would benefit from! (As well as glitches.)
3) If you suggest something, and it has not been added to the game, please do not keeping commenting on how it 'still' hasn't been added. Your suggestion has been read and if it hasn't been added, it's because Ola doesn't think it fits in with the game, or is too difficult to add into the game. It doesn't mean it's a bad suggestion, it's that it's not in the right context.
4) Please take programming time into consideration when suggesting items or aspects of the game. Programming these sorts of games, especially dolldivine's complex, beautiful games that we all enjoy, takes an insane amount of hours. I understand not everyone has a grasp of programming, but think long and hard about what you're asking for. An instance of this is the "on clothing" option that has been asked for in the past for Dinogeddon, which would be the equivalent of the "on skin" or "tattoo" option. This is actually nearly impossible to program.
5) Also take the time it takes to make art into consideration! This includes poses. It already takes hours and hours to draw and perfect the clothing and accessories, but if different poses were included, the time drawing would be at least tripled. Ola may be our almighty queen, but she does, in fact, have other real-life obligations and other projects in the works. Different poses would probably also be a programming nightmare. This is why legs for mermaid makers are difficult.
6) Scene makers. If it's not explicitly stated that a game is going to be a scene maker, with male characters, it means that Ola did not commission the original artist to draw male characters, only female. Adding male characters would set the game release back months - time that could be used to make more games!
7) This is a fairly personal topic - the art style of a game. Do NOT insult the art style, or ask for "normal" facial options. It's taken years for that artist to achieve that style, not to mention the amount of hours it took to draw the individual items for the game. If the style of the game bothers you enough for you to stop enjoying it, you don't have to play it. It's very simple. There's a hundred more games on this site that you could be enjoying.
In summary, read previous comments, be thoughtful about your suggestions, and be thankful that Ola has opened up beta testing so we can have a say in her wonderful games!
