Blargh it sounds so bad when I write the gere like that XP
Anyways, as I said before I've been thinking about converting the five (or maybe just the first four...) main stories to PSM like I did for Mirror. This is for anyone who is interested or on the fence about potentaly reading it. I'll describe the four main charcaters ( the "Sun Pack Four"), the main setting, other areas, history/cultures, etc...
EDIT: It's official! A Battle of Lights will start after Mirror hits chapter eight!
Characters~
Marci, 'Whisper'- She's a tawny-b.rown Sun pack hutress who also pup-sits for her alpha and is a renowned story teller. She had a mate, but he disappeared during a battle. Her section of the story is the first in the series and was set during a famine. She lives in the Center of the pack, the pack's political center.
Willa, 'War of Heart'- Willa is a b.rown wolf, and a former warrior of an annihilated pack. She was banished from her birth-pack after a battle that killed her own mate and pup, just because she followed her fallen alpha's orders and wasn't there. She wanders for a few years before joining Sun pack. She lives in the Western sector.
Spectrum, 'Shadows'- He is mainly russet-b.rown, but has mottled black and white markings (hence the name). His parents died when he was at the end of his puphood, and he became a bit of a career criminal. His birth pack is Dusk, but he also spent a great deal of time wadering from pack to pack before settling in Sun. He lives in the North-Eastern sector, the intellectual capital of the pack.
Century, 'Out Cry'- Century is a white she-wolf and a Sea pack messanger, who is sent to Sun after her own tiny pack is nearly wiped out by raiders. She is their world's equivilent of a single mom, as she has a pup but no current mate. She never fully becomes a Sun pack member, but she lives in the South-Western sector.
World basics~
I'll leave it up to the reader to decide exactly why wolves are the dominate intelectual species in this world, and why there are no humans... But the acctual concept- though I never discuss it in any of the stories, hence the whole "up to the reader" thing- is that something has happened and all the humans of earth have gone extinct for what ever reason, leaving no dominate species on land. Over time this gap is filled by wolves... Or since this is a little too doom-and-gloom even for me, it might also just be a nice little AU, I haven't decided 100% on either.
The earth (or where ever this world really is, if we're going the AU route) is set up into a few large sections. Each section has a multitude of different packs, of varing sizes; a wolf might leave their pack in their life time, but they will never leave their sectors. Section borders are offten uncrossable physical features like oceans or mountians.
In each indivigual pack, there are a few different sectors, the amount varing by how large the pack is as a whole- larger packs have more sectors. In each pack, the "capital" so to speak is the Center of the pack- this area is near the middle of the pack's lands, and is the political center. Around the Center are the other sectors.
Sun pack~
** This section is under construction! **
Sun pack is one of the largest of their section. The alpha family is headed by Jacob and his two daughters, Nala and Flaxen. Their are nine sectors, and all are fully land-locked. Sun pack's allies are Coastal, Sea, Rememberance, Silver Light, and Night.
Other major areas in the section~
** This section is under construction! **
The Blue Springs region- This area is the ruins of the former packs of Friend, Flora, Ice, Grip, and Shadow, all of whom were at war with each other, eventally leading to their complete distruction (the wolves call this an "extinction"). It is fully unocupied, though wolves are welcome to travel there, just not live or form packs on in the region. The only exeption is Rememberance, but they only live on a tiny portion on the region's border.
Rememberance pack- Rememberance was formed by the few remaining members of Flora and Shadow packs (all the region's other packs had been fully wiped out). They are the protectors of the Blue Springs, and allies of their bordering packs, Sun and Coastal. Their largest enemy is their only other bordering pack, Color, and they have four sectors.
Color pack- Color is a mid-sized pack bordered by Sun, Rememberance, and two other as of yet unnamed packs. It's residents have an unusual tendancy to name their pups after colors, hence the name. Their largest enemy is Rememberance, but after 'War of heart' they aren't exactly on good terms with Sun either. They also have some small internal conflicts because of their strict rules (i.e. aranged mates, strict caste-like social order, etc...). They have three sectors.
Dusk pack- Dusk is a small pack that is complely surounded by Frost pack. They are constantly fluxuating between peace and war with Frost. They have no allies other than Frost during peace-times. They are only one sector due to their size.
Coastal pack- Coastal is the second largest pack; it is thin, but goes all the way along their section's Souther coast. They are well known for their incredible markets, especialy in their Fourth sector. They don't have many major enemies, but their most powerfull allies are Sun, Rememberance, and Sea. Of these, they are bordered only by Rememberance, however. They have six very large sectors.
Sea pack- Sea pack is a set of three small, rocky islands that are only about one fourth of a mile off the western coast of Coastal pack. The wolves who live there are very strong swimmers, and are skilled at catching fish- they developed the skill because of the lack of land game to hunt. They don't have many enemies due to their location, but they are allied with a multitude of south-western packs including Sun, Silver Light, Remeberance, White Grass, and Night, though their biggest ally is Coastal.
Anthro character design info~
For anyone who wants to make an OC, or just wants to know why they're dressed as they're dressed, I give you this in depth guide!
First of all, keep their colorings in mind. Certain packs only have certian coat colors in their gene pool. Also, there fur color and markings are what give you the color of their anthro version's hair and skin color. The colors that appear in the section as a whole are: grey, black, white, cream, b.rown, tawny-b.rown, and russet-b.rown, and white or black markings can occur in all of these, but it is rare.
Secondly, their clothes should match their color sceme, and have lots of straps. In addition, these clothes should look kind-of primitive or aborigional ish (so no overly detailed, fancy, modern looking clothes/ elaborate historical-ish fashions).
Now comes the fun part (and most interesting part, in my oppinion): acessories! Higher ranking wolves might have some metal work such as neclaces or ( )aclets. On all anthro versions of a character, there should be some loose ribbon looking details, usually tied to one of their outfit's straps that are near ther arms (or directly onto their arms in some cases). These represent what their job is in their pack. In their hair, there are two feathers: one is the same as the ribbons, and the other shows what pack they are from.
Ribbon color/ meaning-- dark violet= alpha families, red= huntress, ( )own/ ( )onze= warrior, sky blue= messenger, light green= healer, black= mercinary, light violet= beta families
Feather's color/pack-- yellow= Sun, dark grey= Night, acid/neon blue= Coastal, aqua= Sea, silver/very light grey= Silver Light, dark aqua=Rememberance, dark blue= Dusk, magenta= Color, Frost= white, White Grass= light grey
That's all for now- this is still under construction. Also, I lost the map I made of their section, so most of the twenty packs don't have names because I can't remember them! Suggestions are very helpfull! |
