If you doll them I'll crown and comment. Adoptables can be dolled without claiming them; if they're taken then permission depends on who's taken them and their tag will be updated. Fair warning that my dreams sometimes end up either creepy-weird or completely horrifying. I'll make the names of Nightmare Stuff in red so you can skip (or easily find, I don't judge) them. There's some body horror in the black-named stuff though, but you can usually guess by the name. (If body horror is a squick avoid things with names that include 'monster' and the like, I mean.)
The Forest Twins: (NOT ADOPTABLE.) Fraternal twins, brother and sister but eerily alike. Sharp, acid-green eyes, dark red-brown hair worn long, tangled, and roughly tied back (the only reason they don't have perma-dreads is because they finger-comb each others' hair), only slightly tan because very little sun filters down through the canopy. The brother is probably (more than) a little scruffy because he's never been so much as politely introduced to a razor but I haven't been able to make it look good. They cover themselves in foliage (including flowers) as camoflauge, capable of turning practically invisible if they sit still. Underneath they wear scavenged rags and rough furs. They don't remember if they were orphaned or abandoned, as they've been alone for as longs as they can remember, raising each other/themselves, but they're not entirely feral. They can speak and communicate with outsiders if they wish. Usually they're cautious and prefer to observe and avoid others, but they're both very playful. If a person is lost in their forest they'll lead them on a merry chase with whispers, shouts, harmless but frightening traps, and eventually back to the road. People who go looking for them, or come too close to their haven, may find themselves lead in circles for a full day or two before rediscovering the road. Those who are especially rude or seen as dangerous may find themselves knocked out by a trap or by the twins from behind and deposited outside the nearest village. They have two ravens (jokingly named "Brother" and "Sister") they used to share food with who bring them shiny things (they love shiny things) and lead them to wounded animals to hunt and attacked wagons to scavenge (much the same way they lead wolves to food). Their haven is a set of abandoned cottages the woods have reclaimed, over and around which there are wooden platforms in the trees, with the occasional treehouse-like construct. The twins have a talent for weaving foliage and making do with what they have, but I don't think they built the platforms/treehouses- they're pretty well woven into the vines. There are hints of much, much older ruins around and under the cottages.
Amethyst Lady, Amethyst Monster: (ADOPTABLE) Appeared first as the Lady but only a few times; tall, sleek, and all purple. Lilac skin, amethyst eyes, dark violet hair in ringlet curls to her waist. Wore a glittering sheath gown with a slit, also purple. The Lady only appeared a few times, usually in the background. Later stage-hand-ninja'd into another scene as the Monster: neat ringlets turned to tangled curls, her gown torn to just a shirt and black pants that had somehow appeared (dreamland doesn't need no consistency). Gauntlets and greaves of clear, sharp, shiny material like raw obsidian in purple that seemed either grow out of her limbs or push through like a badly broken bone. She had perfectly circular eyes on the inside of her upper arms (halfway between armpit and elbow), one on each, at the edge of the gauntlet-material, with crescents of the material on either side of them. I have no ideal what her deal was; she just popped out of the background scenery and started wrecking things, laughing like a maniac. Anyone who wants to adopt her should doll both versions (either in different dolls or the same, up to you) and if she likes it you can have her.
The Coder: (MAYBE ADOPTABLE?) Exclusively a POV character, I never saw it and don't associate it with a gender. (For those wondering, 'it' is my pronoun of choice as an enby, which why I'm defaulting to it.) It's able to 'steal' parts of spells when used around it, or from artifacts that are present. It copied and modifieda a teleportation spell from a transit stone (think point-to-point fast travel, from one stone to another) to save someone from an explostion. Explicitly referred to what it was doing as "borrowing code." Later it was able to no-clip out of a room to avoid a fireball and applied a visual filter to keep itself and someone else from going blind when encountering a sapient miniature sun. For some reason I associate it with a technicolor rainbow nightmare swirl. I'm playing with both the 'gank the sourcecode of reality/achieve CHIM' and 'unknown POV character of indeterminate and irrelevant gender who's never revealed' ideas right now but I'm also running on stressed-out micronaps and might be disinterested by tomorrow so it's adoptability status is up in the air right now. If the adoptable tag hasn't changed by 8/17 and you want it then ask and I'll make up my mind. Feel free to... fuck I dunno. Try to doll a technicolor rainbow nightmare swirl? Write about it as long as there's credit? I have no idea I just want to have this monstrosity where I can find it. |
