(This page will be updated as new sects come into my mind. ^_^)
Arianoch has many different groups with varying views on different political and religious subjects. Some manipulate gullible folk into giving up wealth in exchange for "protection" or other services, and some are simply peaceful scholars hoping to teach people what they believe is the "right way of life".
The Enlightened:
The Enlightened are a group of elves who choose to forgo the rich, gaudy life of their people and instead devote their lives to studying the Books of the Master. They live nomads's lives, pitching their round, spacious tents whenever they need to stop and rest for a night or more.
Most do not marry, but there are some who choose to commit to a married relationship. Marriage is rare because they are more focused on matters of the mind than on matters of the heart.
Their dress is not the traditional gem-encrusted attire of the elves, but instead simple white robes with colored stripes according to their rank gracing the hem.
- Purple is worn by the Master Scholar, who is the leader of the whole group. Purple is considered the wisest and most noble of colors.
- Red is worn by the Wise Maidens, the young, unmarried women of the group. The color symbolizes their passion for learning. (Although some maidens hope it represents a happy love life as well.)
- Green is worn by the Wise Lads, the young, unmarried men of the group. The Enlightened believe that this prevents them from getting injured and ( )ings them luck in their studies.
- Blue is worn by the Scholars, any older or married men and women. It represents their sadness at leaving their youthful days behind them, but also their authority and wisdom.
The Enlightened don't dye their hair like the elves. Women keep their hair in a long ( )aid that usually reaches the floor, and men keep their hair cut short or tie it back. The traditional headwear of the group is a bunch of coins linked by golden chain.
