A race I'm in the process of creating for a story! This'll be updated as I develop them more.
The Aracellans have long, curly hair. It can range in color from white (the most common color) to medium azure blue. Navy hair is rare, and thought of as exotic. They love wearing their hair up, as it minimizes the risk of getting sucked down to Earth by a stray gust of wind. Short hair is nearly nonexistent, especially among females, because they think it's better to stay natural than cut your locks.
Their names are always elegant, and last names are necessary, since there are two Aracellans to every human. Surnames are Hebrew style, with the father's (or mother's, if the father is dead/missing/divorced;) name followed by -ren, -lith, -tith, -ira, or -tine. A few examples: Fira Drathren, Gilan Adantonlith, Teirlyn Kellyntith, Varnis Dremaira, and Carille Bastiantine. (You could make a character with a father named Valen and get Valentine, LOL!)
Their skin shimmers, and is a light powder blue. Tattoos are virtually impossible, since they are 70% water vapor.
Clothing is usually transparent, except for a leotard that they wear at all times. Their clothing is dominantly white, with different shades of blue accenting the outfit. Silver is the most common color of metal used.
Aracellan pupils match the kind of weather they can control. (For example, my OC Lynwen has a snowflake pupil, since she can make it snow.)
They are very light, and have to be very careful of the wind. One wrong gust could send them over the edge and down to the ground below.
Large bodies of water are especially dangerous. If an Aracellan was to jump into a pool, they would be a goner, the water vapor in them dissolving into the water, leaving empty articles of clothing and a mass of hair behind.
One notable thing about Aracellan fashion is that they ADORE anklets and leg cuffs. These are shown off as prized possessions, and are heavily guarded when not worn.
The worst punishment there is is to be made into hailstones. This entails having an Icemaker freeze the criminal to be executed, and then ( )eak him or her into pieces. The executee remains concsious for the entire process, and is thrown to Earth after the execution.
The Aracellans prize innocence and purity above all virtues. Sexual crimes are punishable by the above method of execution, no matter who the offender is.
Aracelis is divided into sectors, one for each city/town/village on Earth. They know all of the languages spoken in their city.
Their native language is called Wind, and its spoken sound resembles the actual wind.
