Background: Scarlett de Avila is a beautiful 25-year-old heiress of Spanish and French descent. She was orphaned at the age of eleven when an arsonist set her family home on fire. While she managed to escape the flames, both of her parents perished. She was then sent to live with her uncle/guardian in London. There are two very distinct sides to her. While she can flawlessly play the part of the beautiful heiress, she has a sharp eye and even sharper mind. She puts both to use as an undercover detective. Because she is not above using her beauty and position to get to the information she needs, she has been nicknamed "the siren" by her enemies. She is much more than just a pretty face, however, and prefers, running around solving crimes rather than flirting with handsome strangers at her uncle's parties.

Love Interests: None--at least that's what she'd tell you if you asked her. She has secretly been in love with her childhood friend, Frederick Donaghue, for pretty much as long as she's known him, but she won't admit it to herself. Fred's a fellow aristocrat who often helps her on her cases. He's a bit irresponsible and constantly getting himself into scrapes, but he has a good heart and loves Scarlett more than anything. Fred's carefree, easy-going nature provides a nice contrast to Scarlett's cool, analytical mind. The two have been solving mysteries since they around the time they first met when she went to live with her uncle.
