According to his father, Salil's mother ran off with another man when he was a child; because of this, he has a deep mistrust of women. Soon after becoming a teenager, his father was killed by some loan sharks when he could not pay back money he owed. Salil escaped the clutches of the loanshark, and had to grow up on the streets as a result. While on the streets, a performance fighting troupe took him in and taught him his way around a sword. Elaborate shows of technique and skill became part of his daily life, and he was a natural swordsman. Because he is a performer, he has a fair sense of fashion, and likes flashy things in moderation.

He is quite the charmer and flirt, though know one would guess with that innocent face. He figures if he can make any girl fall for him first, he would always be in control of the relationship, since he promised himself long ago he would never be hurt by a woman like his mother hurt him.

His street smarts, natural swordmanship skills, charm and wariness of women makes him an excellent candidate to win the Alubu Games!
