Kamaria (her name means “Bright as the moon, like the moon” in Swahili) is an albino, and therefore has white skin and hair, and grayish purple eyes. She is above average height and is of a medium build.
Kamaria was born and raised in Tanzania, the daughter of a wealthy Chaga (ethnic group) family who owns one of the biggest coffee plantations in the country. Though born with albinism, her family's wealth kept her safe from the dangers of being an albino in Africa. Unfortunately, this also meant that she was very sheltered growing up. Her childhood consisted of private tutors, etiquette classes and long strolls in the garden within her family compound.
Because she was usually confined to the walls of her home, Kamaria was an avid bookworm since a young age, and dreamt of visiting the many places she read about in her books. Into her teenage years and young adulthood, Kamaria ventured out into her country, and found that other albinos had not experienced the privileged life she led. Many were persecuted and even killed as a result of their unique condition, so Kamaria opened a group home of sorts for underprivileged albinos to take sanctuary in.
Between maintaining the center and learning the ropes of the family business, she keeps herself fairly busy.
Personality: very sweet and naive, due to her sheltered upbringing. Not necessarily a shy person, but somewhat quiet.
Hobbies: traveling and reading.
Fashion: Since she has albinism, she usually has to wear clothes that cover up her skin to prevent bad sunburning, especially if she is out and about, which she is due to her busy schedule. She likes dark, cool colors and African prints, which reminds her of home when she is away.
So, to sum it up... "Modern and modest African chic in cool colors?" :P |
