[I guess I can write this now. Vivi was a very sweet guy. He was laid back, loving, smart, and loved to be on the couch with you. He always liked lounging around and absolutely loved getting pet.
After Harry died, he didn't throw his weight around so much, but he was definitely the top cat. I don't think any of the cats tried to dispute that. Now that he's gone, it seems to have shaken things up.
He used to love for my grandmother to hold him, and would start pulling down her pants to get her attention. It took a little time, but he started doing that to me, too. He also never forgot where Grandma had kept the treats, and he would sometimes put his paws up on that part of the pantry and look at me, and we'd both understand. He usually got more petting instead. What a sweetheart.
He used to greet me after I went for a walk or to check the mail by going over the fence between us and a certain neighbor and meeting me by the road, not far from the driveway. We'd walk up the driveway together, and he'd get pet a lot of the way.
I had a car scare with him once while I was chatting with the neighbor across the street. Vivi was just standing in the road, not far from our driveway, when two cars started coming from each way. The neighbor and I had to scare Vivi off the road.
I'm not sure what killed him, but I found his body, and it was horrible. I lost one of my babies. I have a couple pictures of him and his littermates from Oct. 2009, when they were still kittens, so he would've turned ten this year. He died on 7 Jan. Farewell, baby. Your memories will be part of the sky. - Alex] |
