From the world of Doctor Who, Mattakillanna is Kattavocci --related to the Vocci, such as Bannakaffalatta of Voyage of the Damned, and the Vinvocci of The End of Time. In the social hierarchy of their planet, she is somewhere between the two. She has less in the way of spikes but, unlike the others, she has thick, luxuriant hair.

Kattavocci courtesans are well versed in the gentle [and not so gentle] arts.  They undergo rigorous training and are well respected in their society.  Mattakillanna is one of a group in her guild who cater mostly to human tourists.  She is an old friend of the Doctor in more than one of his regenerations.
