Guardian
Alter Ego name: Evelyn Rose Ravencroft (Eve, (Evie ONLY to her parents))
Story: Ran away from home as a child because her parents kept getting in trouble (like police coming to their house trouble) for the ‘incidents’ at her schools (they moved whenever things got too hot) and one of the times that things were getting too crazy, they couldn’t afford to move, even though her parents were always insistent on finding a way and she was afraid that this time they would go too far and leave no money for them to live in a house. So she ran away, leaving an anonymous tip with the police that the girl responsible for all the incidents was on the run (she’s smarter than most people her age throughout her life).
While she was on the subway (or train, still deciding), the elder man she sat next to (Felix) asked her where her parents are. She replied that she was on her way back from a relative’s house and she travels alone all the time. He chuckles and tells her she’s a bad liar then asks what she’s running away from. Eve gets a bit freaked out at this point that this guy guessed what was going on without her saying. He chuckles again and says it’s pretty obvious with the late hour and the backpack and suitcase she’s carrying, so he asks again what she’s running from. It takes a little more talking, but eventually Eve explains her situation to him. He finishes off her explanation at the end and she’s shocked. That’s when he explains to her that he’s a psychic of sorts, a real one. He can sort of read the waves and auras around people and can tell what they’re thinking from it. He assures Eve that she’s not the only one with a strange ability and that hers is nothing to be afraid of. She just needs to learn how to control it.
They talk on the long train ride and eventually, the man offers to teach her how to control her abilities and promises that should she ever feel like she wanted or had to, he wouldn’t stop her from leaving. Eve agrees tentatively and ends up staying with him well through her preteen years. As she becomes a teenager though, her mentor is getting older and not as able to fight (as they’ve had to do when agents find their hideaway house) and one time that they are fighting, they manage to chase the people off, but the man gets badly wounded. He tells Eve it’s not safe there for her anymore and that she has to run. The people they had just chased off were agents from the place that the man left years ago (still figuring out those details). They’re very interested in abilities like Eve’s and they’re not nice people at all. He tells her to go and get the bag that he packed specifically for this reason and to leave, making her promise to never ever return to his house. The bag is a backpack with a little bit of food, a change of clothes, some money, and a piece of paper with an address and directions from the hideaway on it, along with a set of keys. He also packed in there the only photo of her parents she had taken with her when she left. As she is getting this bag, the agents return with reinforcements. Though she doesn’t want to leave her mentor alone, he ends up getting into her head, forcing her to leave. She is chased until she reaches the cliffs by the hideaway. The agents think that they’ve cornered her, but she jumps off. The agents think she’s dead, but she ends up escaping, using her wings to fly away (Her wings are usually hidden as marks that look like tattoos on her shoulders. They disappear from her body when she’s using them because they basically life from her skin and spread out behind her. On appearance, these wings don’t look like they could hold anyone up.). One sees barely sees her in the clouds and that’s enough to keep them looking for her.
She follows the directions to a moderately sized, but nice house with a small size estate an hour outside a city far from both her home and her mentor’s house. She uses the keys in her backpack to open the door and finds a note on the table by the front door that says ‘Look in the closet’ with an arrow pointing down the hall. In the closet is a bag. This bag is a moderately sized suitcase with clothes, some food, a large amount of money and credit cards in her name along with information about how to get into the account that comes with them, a laptop, keys to a motorcycle in the garage, and some things for entertainment like books, sketchbooks and the like. Everything she needs to start over. Inside is also a letter from her mentor, written only a little more than a week after she came to stay with him. He had this planned all along. He knew this was going to happen.
Out of Mythic Form (not real appearance): violet eyes, black hair
Student
Quirky style, doesn’t really have a set one. One day, she can wear an older fashioned dress and another wear jeans and a tee with a hoodie. Always wears the same necklace though, a small silver key on a fine chain.
Hobbies: Writing, drawing/painting, exploring her estate, meditating (part of her training regimen, now a habit to keep focused), playing with her kittens (she got some a few weeks prior to the present part of the story), playing the violin, singing, windsurfing (a sport of her own devising that is nothing like the actual sport, actually surfs the wind, water has near nothing to do with it, she lives a bit dangerously)
Mythic form: My mythic self would definitely wear something either with white feathers or an angel wing motif to symbolize the good side of my heart. Probably something like decorative hair feathers or a shirt with the wing motif. But mingled in with the pure would be dark elements signifying my darker side. Maybe a jacket over the shirt in a dark blue (my favourite colour and also the colour signifying deep emotion most times) with a devil wing motif (sadly, my dark side wins over the light side a lot). They would be mingled together because the two sides are constantly fighting with each other. I may even have mismatched wings, one light, one dark, to signify the two sides. I would also probably have a mask because I rarely say how I truly feel about a situation (bad or complicated, something I would have a strong opinion on that might make things worse…). I’m always hiding my true self, for fear of what people will think of the person behind the mask. To go along with this, I might have a rose motif somewhere. It’s my favourite flower, but more important is that the rose represents love, which I always want from my friends and family. I’m also a hopeless romantic, so I would have that theme in my mythic garments as well. Real Appearance (only seen in mythic form): One blue eye, one green , Light brown hair with blonde highlights, sometimes Mythical beings have traits like these naturally without any previous genes. For this reason, Eve hides her real appearance, to try and keep the agents after her at bay.
Power: protection. Can put up shields to protect or cages to trap. She can 'trap' anything. Even a memory or a voicebox. Her power is limitless and dangerous.
Enigma
Alter Ego: Tristan
Story: Thinks he is the only Mythical being in the world, has tried finding others, but they don’t seem to be around, so he just wanders from place to place most of the time. Meets Felix along his travels and sees a picture of a little girl while he’s talking to the old man…
Appearance: pale grey eyes,
Jeans and a hoodie when not in mythic form, but changes with his mood
Mythic Form: My mythic self would be a simple robe of white. Eyes would be blank with no pupil. Just a solid color. There is a reason. for what I'd represent is emotion. Emotions are mine to feel and as such, I'd be able to reflect emotions and manifest them into power. I would have a simple mask as well. When I show a person their feelings, the mask will change to reflect it. It could be something beautiful, something fierce, something ugly. It would all depend on what is inside the person's heart. I would not be without my own emotions as well, and the reason for the simplicity is simple because my features change with my emotions.

Samantha Grey
Human
Other info tbd
She's not a Mythic. But she can hold her own in a fight. She and Evelyn met when Samantha followed her around, trying to find a way to talk to her. Evelyn mistook her for one of the agents and attacked her when they were secluded. Samantha was surprised, of course, but instinct and habit took over and the best fight she'd ever had ensued. After that, she didn’t leave Eve alone.
Felix
Mythic name tbd

Dusk
Human name tbd
VERY dark purple eyes
Hair looks black, but actually has shades of dark purple, red and blue depending on the light
Very cocky with a short temper. Hates to lose
Can ‘travel’ in and along any shadow and can ‘call’ shadows to fight for him
Dawn
Twin sister of Dusk (again, human name tbd)
Eyes are a ridiculously pale shade of blue, almost silver, but not quite
Hair is almost white it’s so light blonde.
A lot more calm and calculating than her brother
Main power is her bow and arrows. Arrows are made of light she bends and can pierce through ANYTHING (almost, aside from Tristan’s creations). Can also draw in light and make blinding flashes from it.
Idea for Mythic baddie (NOT working with the Agency) + plot twist
Ash Silverleaf (surname to be changed)
Mythic name: Nightshade?
Silver hair, golden eyes
Ash is another survivor of Atlantis, secretly saved and trained by Zeus, who saw a great advantage to the power Ash possesses, the power to take the magic of another being away simply by having physical contact with them (and wanting to absorb the power, just contacting does nothing if he doesn’t use his power while doing so). The more contact, the faster the process. And once he absorbs their power, he can use it freely. Zeus hoped to use this power to eliminate the threat of the mortals with magic. But Ash grew tired of taking orders and decided HE was going to be the only one with the power. He ends up being the cause of the gods’ downfall and gains every single one of the powers they had (the ones he caught anyway). When he discovers that another Atlantean is still alive, he seeks out his brother, hoping to find a way to rebuild the great civilization of Atlantis, but his hope is met with disappointment when he finally finds Tristan. Ash sees Tristan as a weakling. He allowed a goddess to control his training and how he acted and NOW he’s consorting with mortals. Ash hates Tristan for completely degrading his proud Atlantean heritage by wasting his time with weak mortals instead of using the power he has to control the mortals and, along with Ash, become the new gods of this world. So, Ash doesn’t think Tristan deserves to be Atlantean, or alive for that matter, and makes it his mission to rid the world of Atlantis’ weak link.. He survives through the ages, as Tristan does, tracking him everywhere, waiting for a chance to strike. But then, Ash finds out about Tristan and Felix’s little project to revive the Mythic race. This is a big problem for him… He’s furious that pathetic HUMANS, MORTALS have been gifted with Mythic powers, and it’s all thanks to Tristan. Ash hates the other Atlantean more than ever, but, looking on the positive side, now he has even more powers to absorb and a way to get to Tristan to boot. But he has to make sure this project ends permanently. Pretending to be an ally, Ash builds mistrust between Eve and Tristan and makes it seem like he’s the one who really cares for Eve, who wants to protect her, so he can get close to her. However, Tristan is not convinced of this guy’s sincerity, being thrown off by the fact that he could block Tristan’s power, making him impossible to read. He tells this to Sam, Eve’s friend, but she just says that he’s jealous and that he should be happy that Eve is happy. Sam later tells Eve what Tristan said and Eve confronts him about it, basically telling him to back off. After things have escalated between Ash and Eve, Tristan figures out who this guy is and what he’s planning just in time to try to keep Eve from becoming his next victim. He fails in that Eve gets her powers taken and becomes mortal again, but he succeeds in stopping Ash from killing her. The only way for Eve to get her powers back is for the other Atlantean to die. When he dies, all the powers he absorbed will scatter and find their original owners if possible. If not, they will either disappear or find new hosts. Debating on how long Eve is without her powers…Prolly not long for the sake of story pace. But without them, she’s much weaker, just a regular human. Her appearance also changes to what she would have looked like if she had been born a normal human (dark brown hair and grey eyes).
***
Eve’s head was spinning. Not in the good way she thought it would whenever she got kissed. It was spinning in a bad way. A very bad way. She felt like she was going to black out or worse. She opened her eyes, trying to stay conscious, and despite her eyes being (as far as she knew) fully open, her vision was blurred so much that she could only just barely see Ash’s golden eyes looking back at her, glowing in a way she had never seen before. This was bad. This was really bad. She had to fight him. She had to get away.
But she could hardly move. He had done something to her, she just wasn’t sure what. She never should have trusted him…she should have listened to Tristan…Why did Tristan always have to be right? Why Ash? Just when she thought that she had found someone…
Her vision darkened further despite her eyes never closing and it was then that Ash finally pulled away, letting Eve collapse in his arms. The last thing she heard was a sinister chuckle and his silky smooth voice.
“Goodnight, Eve.” |
