This is going to be a quick reference guide to anyone who doesn't feel like looking through all of my old stories to figure out who my characters are and what they're like. These are mostly OCs from other people's stories, so if you're here because you have OCs from that story too, feel free to use my characters in your stories for that world.

Physical description: tall, slim, white/silver curly hair, and light purple eyes. The left eye is damaged because a spell was placed on it by the Guildmaster to hold Khione to her oath of loyalty; Khione removed the spell herself, causing permanent blindness in her left eye. She wears a glass over her eye to give her artificial vision but when she isn’t wearing it she cannot see out of that eye.
Personality: Khione has a difficult time interacting with people not only because she was emotionally manipulated by the Guildmaster and has a difficult time trusting people but because she simply does not understand how most social interactions work. People see her as aloof and a( )asive. Khione does not sugar-coat anything and does not spare feelings when she’s speaking with people. Until recently, Khione would also say that she does not have any attachments.

Callidum (AvalonTheQuin): For her first three years at the Academy, Khione just saw Callidum as a teacher. Now, they have been going out for some time and while Khione would only admit it with the greatest reluctance, she has strong feelings for Callidum.
Elman (OldSoulUser): Khione sees Elman as a friend, though she would not admit that either. She used to dislike him but since he’s been so kind to her he’s kind of grown on her.
Adair (Kytheira): Khione distrusts Adair and feels as though there’s something important about him she doesn’t know.
Alina (XeynSwag): Khione respects Alina for her swordsmanship but as a person Khione feels rather indifferent toward her.
Andres (AvalonTheQuin): Khione strongly distrusts Andres for his telepathic abilities (this is due to the fact that the Guildmaster was a telepath and used his abilities to manipulate Khione)
Lady Mertillia (AvalonTheQuin): Khione has only shared her story with two people: Callidum and Lady Mertillia. While Lady Mertillia does not know the entire story, she knows most of it which means that Khione trusts her.

Summarized background
When Khione was about seven, her mother became terminally ill and her father ran off with a rich elven lady. He hired a man to kill Khione’s mother and siblings, and the man would have killed Khione himself if she had not stabbed him in the leg with the dagger he had used to kill her ( )other and run away. The Guildmaster picked her up and she spent the next nine years at the Guild fortress. The Guildmaster was a telepath and had some ability to control minds; for the most part, however, he just loved to play mind games and he emotionally/mentally manipulated Khione as she carried out her orders. She killed many people under his orders, including Nineve’s oldest ( )other, Kilian. When she was sixteen she attempted to kill her father but couldn’t ( )ing herself to do it, though that was the entire reason she had accepted the Guildmaster’s offer in the first place. She ran away from the Guild. Only a few weeks later the Guildmaster found her and she dueled him, cutting off his hand and throwing him into a ditch. She sought out a mage and had the spell of fealty removed on her eye and had the mage create the glass over her eye that she wears most of the time. Khione joined the Night Watchers Academy when she was nineteen and has been there for three years. Recently, Khione had to face the Guildmaster again in two different situations–the first, she went alone to the forest (with Callidum watching in the shadows) and dueled the Guildmaster. When she bested him, she warned him not to come again or she would kill him. The second time, the Guildmaster threatened Hazel’s (Nineve’s sister) life and James killed the Guildmaster. Recently, Khione came across Castor Valence who had been shot and took him to the hospital ward.

Personality: James is witty and uses his sense of humor to lighten dark situations. He is often seen as flirtatious but most of the time he isn’t serious; he just likes to annoy people. He has a sort of self-destructive habit in that he likes to get himself into dangerous situations just to see if he can escape them.

Francesco (AvalonTheQuin): James has nothing against Francesco, but he does feel jealous occasionally of Francesco’s honorable personality. He wishes that he could be more like Francesco to win Nineve’s favor, but he knows that will never be possible.
Callidum: James is a bit unnerved by Callidum but respects him as a teacher as well.
Adair: James wishes he knew Adair better because he thinks that they would get along well.

Summarized background
James grew up in a wealthy family who fell into ruin. James’s parents grew increasingly abusive and James had to get out. He ran away when he was fourteen and hoped that he would be able to prove himself somehow. Not much is known of what James did after he ran off, but it is known that he travelled around and became an expert pickpocket. He was recruited by a couple of Night Watchers and he joined the Academy when he was twenty. He has been at the Night Watchers Academy for a few months but it seems like he’s been there much longer. He has a blatant crush on Nineve but she has been more interested in Francesco than him. He has recently killed the Guildmaster.
Fun facts
James’s last name is Beaumont but after he ran away from home he refuses to give his surname to anyone; he claims he doesn’t have one.
James has an ear for music and he’s trying to teach himself how to play an instrument.
James has a strong mind and if he trained himself enough he could be a low-level telepath; he isn’t aware of this fact, though.

Personality: Nineve is kind, open-hearted, and patient. She is easily swayed by other people’s opinions, however. She has been trying to improve in this area because she knows that one day she might be seriously misled. Nineve often second-guesses herself and wonders what her purpose is because she doesn’t believe that she is any good at anything.

James (me): Nineve likes James, but really only as a friend. She finds him humorous and generally entertaining to be around. She also appreciates him looking out for her and her family when they were in danger with the Guildmaster.
Francesco: Though Nineve isn’t entirely certain how Francesco feels about her, Nineve has had feelings for Francesco ever since they met. Nineve finds Francesco honest, understanding, and morally strong and these are qualities that she greatly admires.
Ricky (AvalonTheQuin): Nineve doesn’t know Ricky incredibly well but she would see him as a kind of older ( )other.
Sylen (Forgotten): Nineve thinks of Sylen as her closest friend. She reminds Nineve of Anna, one of her closest sisters. Nineve is glad to have someone to talk to about her problems, and Sylen is a great listener.
Eilom (OldSoulUser): Nineve sees Eilom as another close friend, often going to him for advice. She appreciates his humor and his personality in general.
Thaluna (Forgotten): Nineve doesn’t really know Thaluna well yet but she believes that they would be close friends if they spent more time together.

Summarized background
Nineve lived most of her life at home in the forest, so she’s grown up a very sheltered person. Her sister, Anna, died shortly after another of her sisters, Elaine left home. Elaine returned and encouraged Nineve to get out into the world and learn a bit about how reality works. Nineve was about to go with her ( )other, Gawain, when her family learned that the oldest child, Kilian, had been murdered. Nineve refused to leave home for two years after that. Gawain left Nineve alone in the forest after being enthralled by an enchantress. Nineve wandered the land for a time until she was encouraged to visit the Night Watchers Academy, which was supposed to host the people most knowledgeable in history (what Nineve was interested in learning). Nineve didn’t plan on staying long but after meeting Francesco and a few of her other friends she decided to enroll at the school. She now feels pretty useless because she’s terrible with weaponry but she doesn’t know how else to be of use. Recently, the Guildmaster kidnapped her youngest sister, Hazel, and threatened to kill her unless Khione returned to the Guild. After that fiasco was resolved, Nineve returned Hazel to her home and spent some time there before coming back to the Academy with another of her sisters, Ginerva. Ginerva was only there for a short time before a mysterious incident occurred (not actually sure; anyone have ideas?) and she insisted upon going home. Nineve took her home and met Ashildr on her way back.

Nineve used to love to play pranks until Anna died, after which she decided that she needed to be more serious.
Nineve has fairly strong healing magic, but she doesn’t trust it after not being able to save Anna from dying.

She is quick to forgive people even for unforgiveable things; when Nineve learned that Khione was the one who killed her ( )other she was able to forgive Khione for that without a conflict.

Physical appearance: short, athletic, wavy dark ( )own hair, ( )ight aqua eyes.
Personality: Q is witty, sarcastic, and outgoing. She can be a bit socially awkward but don’t blame her for that; she hasn’t been able to have a proper conversation with anyone for decades. Also, Q has a lot of self-doubt because of how her curse backfired and she was unable to save Iain’s life. She doesn’t think herself worthy of anyone or anything, and assumes that she is destined to be alone. She also has a very unstable mind and personality; on some occasions she feel that instead of controlling her magic, her magic is controlling her. She has been known to tip over the verge of insanity.

James (me): Q finds James amusing and would have likely become friends with him if she had not run off.
Deracante (AvalonTheQuin): Q has deep-set feelings toward Deracante but because of her self-doubt she assumes he doesn’t really care for her in return. Lately, this has changed a bit. Q sees Deracante as sweet and openly honest, which she greatly appreciates.
Alina (XeynSwag): Q thinks Alina is extremely nice and sees her as a friend.
Callidum: Now that the curse has been ( )oken Q often seeks out advice from Callidum. She finds him wise and understanding.
Elman: Q actually sees Elman as a kind of friend, even if he doesn’t know her well.
Cassanthea: Q believes that Cassanthea is nice enough but for a time she was admittedly jealous of her, thinking that Deracante was going out with Cassanthea.

Summarized background
Q lived during the time of the war against the evil king (this time, Deracante’s father) and was in a relationship with a young man called Iain. Since Q is a mage, she attempted to use a curse against the evil king that would freeze him in time, immobilizing him until they could figure out what to do with him. Unfortunately, the curse backfired and Q lost the ability to age or use her magic. Additionally, no one except Iain would remember who she was. If she spoke to the person directly, they may notice her for a while but once they left the conversation they would immediately forget who she was. Iain was wounded during that battle, and because Q had lost her magic she was unable to save him and he died. After that, Q confined herself to the Academy and while she claims she has lived too many lives for one person (suggesting several near-death experiences in which she discovered she could not die), Q never had to experience the full consequences of the curse because Deracante arrived on the scene. For reasons unknown, Deracante was able to see through Q’s curse and using his father’s old scrolls he was able to lift the curse. Q is still adjusting to the transition and wonders if she will ever be able to lead a normal life. Recently, Q met Castor Valence who is supposedly someone from her past, someone she killed. In an attempt to kill Valence again, Q was poisoned and lost her stability. She left the Night Watchers Academy for a deserted island and it is unknown if she will ever return.

Race: human (with dragon person blood in her veins from her father's side)
Physical appearance: tall, athletic, straight black hair, golden eyes. Before Ashildr was experimented on by the demons, she had ( )own eyes and a human skin color. Now, she has gold eyes with dragon-like pupils and scaly, dark grey skin.
Personality: Ashildr is known for her use of formal language and her generally formal mannerisms. She is polite to most but she is easily angered and can be seen as aggressive and volatile. She distrusts blood beasts and dragon people because her family line is known as dark and dangerous, meaning most of them will know to kill her on sight.
Family members: Brynhildr (mother–deceased), Einarr (father–deceased); Ashildr does have other distant relatives but on her father’s side they have all been killed

Summarized background
When Ashildr was young, she left the Island of blood beasts and dragon people to go live in a cave. Later, Ashildr discovered that this was because of her father’s bloodline. They have a mysterious dark shadow lingering across their history; in the past, many dragon people of the Ichor line sided with the darkness and killed many of their own kind. They are known as extremely dangerous and unpredictable, so the dragon people and blood beasts do not trust them. Ashildr’s parents were killed by demons and Ashildr herself captured. The demons wished to use Ashildr as their weapon; since she was young, she had an impressionable mind and could be influenced to do their bidding. The demons later realized that they should have taken Einarr instead of Ashildr because, since Ashildr is female, they could never truly convert her into a dragon person. While Ashildr did receive some dragon-like qualities (like grey skin, gold eyes, and a great amount of strength), she would never be a true dragon person. If she were to have a son, however, he would receive the full curse of Ichor (since all the others of the bloodline Ichor are dead) and the demons would come for him. So, Ashildr has resigned herself to a life of hunting demons alone. It is unknown exactly what Ashildr did from the time she escaped from the demons until now, but she did visit Neol’s kingdom once and received training in hunting by Neol. Currently, she is on her way to the Night Watcher Academy.

Ashildr’s weapon of choice is a halberd (axe/spear hy( )id) that her mother used to wield.

Physical appearance: very tall, highly athletic build, dark curly hair, olive green eyes. In his transformed self he appears as a green lindworm (or wyvern; a wingless dragon with two legs). The poison from his teeth is deadly with no well-known cure; only an expert healer would be able to counteract the poison.
Personality: Castor is serious and practical, making most of his decisions based on logic over emotion. Sarcasm is lost on him and he doesn't really appreciate humor. Still, Castor is polite and reasonably amicable. He is wise and intelligent, as most of his kind is.

Summarized background
Castor grew up on the Island of blood beasts and dragon people. When he was young, his parents and ( )other were killed by an Ichor (one of Ashildr's relations). Though no one knows exactly why, the Ichors have a tendancy to turn violent and aggressive toward their own kind and once they have turned they do not usually come back to normalcy. Castor killed the Ichor in self-defense. Castor left the Island and wandered off on his own. He harbors a particular resentment for the Ichor family line because of what happened to his family but he does not have any particular vendetta against them because he knows that not all of them are corrupt. He explored the world for a time before coming across a mysterious tower in the middle of nowhere housing a prophet who warned him that he would meet someone at the Night Watchers Academy who would try to kill him. Castor decided that he would kill this person before he/she killed him. Soon after, Khione found him near the Academy after he'd been shot. He was taken inside and at night he snuck out of the hospital ward to raid Q's tower for information on the students.

Sara Chatain (née Pútniková)
Aliases: Zahlrati, Songstress of the Night, the Timeless Traveller

Race: Lylthian (Innuda)
Physical appearance: average height, slim/moderately curvy, curly chestnut ( )own hair, pale purple eyes. As Sara is a Lylthian she has all of the physical/biological qualities of a Lylthian.
Personality: Sara is polite and kind to everyone she meets but underneath her kindness is a deep sadness. She is very reserved and spends a lot of time alone. Due to her wandering nature Sara does not make many lasting friends and she tries not to attach herself to anyone since she knows that they will die while she continues to live. She sees herself as weak and cowardly for constantly running away from difficult situations but it is her first instinct to do so. She is quick to forgive and can see the best in others, so when her anger is finally roused it is difficult to assuage. Though Sara tries to see the best in everyone and every situation, this is often used against her and she can be fairly easily taken advatage of because of her optimistic assumptions.
Hobbies: Sara is very artistically minded so she enjoys sketching and painting. She also loves to sing and she has some talent in dance. Over the years, Sara has amassed many hobbies to keep herself busy. She has learned how to speak several languages fluently, and she has trained herself in computer science and hacking so she can erase her records when she needs to disappear and start over (as she does every few years).
Fears: Sara does not fear death. On the other hand, she welcomes it. Instead, Sara's worst fear is being trapped or imprisoned (anywhere, but particularly an asylum). She also fears being worthless or unworthy of love, small enclosed spaces, and being alone for the rest of her life. Sara also has a mild fear of fire.

Relationship status: widowed, once married to Jean-Pierre Chatain. Sara would love to find someone else so that she can move on but she can't seem to find anyone who comes close to Pierre.
Relationships with other characters
Jean-Pierre Chatain (me): Sara's first love. Sadly, Jean-Pierre was human so their relationship ended with his death in the mid 1900s. Sara feels that he was the only one to truly understand her and actively seek her well-being and he made her feel human. Sara also feels incredibly guilty when she thinks of him because she feels that she ruined his life.
Ensil Cyrus (me): Obviously, Sara doesn't trust Cyrus after he lied to her and tried to kill her (not a great start to any friendship/relationship, haha). Still, she can't help but think that there is some good in him.
Alinna (LadyLeaf): Sara does not trust Alinna very much, and though she knows Alinna must have a reason for her actions, Sara feels that Alinna unnecessarily interrupted her way of life. She also doesn't understand why Alinna or anyone else didn't tell Sara who she was before now, since that would have spared her a lot of pain in the future. She is also a bit fearful of Alinna's strength.
Anna Karnstein (White_Queen94): Sara doesn't know Anna well, only that she helped her get out of a dangerous situation. Still, Sara feels that the dangerous situation could have been averted in the first place so as of now she's fairly indifferent toward Anna.
Joel Haddson (LadyLeaf): Again, Sara doesn't know much about Joel but she does appreciate that he was willing to fight off the Dāmians while she escaped.
Fatine (DuskyAsianRose): Sara is a bit unnerved by Fatine and finds her a bit dangerous but she appreciates Fatine's advice all the same.
Marcellus (LadyLeaf): I think it's safe to say that Sara is terrified of all of the Dāmians at this point, but since she interacted with Marcellus the most (apart from Cyrus), she feels more strongly on the matter. She's definitely unsettled and very frightened by this guy.
Išul (LadyLeaf): Sara is mostly annoyed by Išul, though it is not entirely his fault that Sara is unable to leave or go anywhere. She finds him to be frustrating and not incredibly helpful, though she knows that he is just following orders so it is really Alinna she should be frustrated with.
Summarized background
Eek, how to summarize this tragic story? Sara was born in Slovakia on Fe( )uary 29, 1680. She never knew her parents or how they died and she never learned the story of how Constance came to care for her in the first place. She also was never made aware of her Lylthian heritage, lending to a very confusing life for Sara. After Constance died, Sara ran off and travelled around the world until she came to rest in Paris. In 1886, Sara met a man called Jean-Pierre Chatain and the two of them quickly fell in love. Sara ignored the fact that she would live far longer that Pierre and married him in 1890. Shortly after, Sara learned that she was infertile (a biological fact of the Lylthians) and decided to tell Pierre the truth about herself. Realizing that Pierre would certainly institutionalize her, Sara ran off again and returned to Paris in 1947 to witness Pierre's death. Before he died, Pierre said that he wouldn't have put Sara in an insane asylum; instead, he had been planning a trip to India (somewhere she'd always wanted to go) so she could take a ( )eak from the stress and grief and they could talk things over. After that, Sara attempted suicide via poison on a few occasions but after that failed she decided that she was just destined for this life. Sara moved to America for a ( )ief time before returning to Paris around 2016. Recently, she met Cyrus (my Dāmian OC) who had been hunting a mysterious Lylthian. He finally realized it was her but discovered that Alinna was nearby as well. He used Sara–initially under the impression she was going to dinner–as bait to draw in Alinna (see LadyLeaf's Twilight Realm part 11). Sara was nearly killed but eventually got away with the help of Alinna and her companions. She is now staying at the Grey Moth with Išūl (LadyLeaf) and she has learned that she is a Lylthian–though she does not know what that means yet.

Sara's most prized possessions are a photograph of herself and Pierre standing in front of the Eiffel Tower at its debut at the Exposition Universelle and a silver locket Pierre gave her.
Sara's Lylthian gift (Kadra) is the ability to induce emotions with her voice; not just her singing voice, but her speaking voice as well to some extent. The stronger her emotion, the stronger her power over the listener.
Sara does not actually know her true Lylthian name (Sirša).
Cyrus
Aliases: Ensil (lieutenant)

Race: Dāmian
Physical appearance: tall, athletic, pale blonde hair, red eyes like blood. As Cyrus is a Dāmian, he possesses the physical/biological properties of a Damian.
Personality: Cyrus doesn't like other people to know his emotions, so he is often seen as cold and calculating (which he certainly can be). He will stop at nothing to find who killed his mother and sister and to avenge their deaths. Cyrus can be extreme in his methods but he does not ever wish to shed innocent blood unless there is no other option. Underneath his unfriendly exterior, Cyrus has a great deal of guilt and self-doubt as he feels he should have done more to save his family. His heart is full of bitterness and anger, the hot desire for revenge coursing through his veins.

When war struck the town everything was decimated and nearly everyone was killed. In the aftermath, Cyrus found his mother and sister dead but could not find his ( )other anywhere. He joined the Legion of Blood in an attempt to prepare himself for a path of revenge. He assumes that Alinna was responsible for this tragedy, but in light of recent events this is unlikely. Recently, he was recruited by Asuriel (my Yaldah OC) to track down a Lylthian who was supposed to be located in Paris, somehow managing to avoid detection until that point. Cyrus didn't realize that the Lylthian was Sara until much later, at which point he planned to kill her until he discovered that LadyLeaf's Alinna was present as well. He then decided to invite Sara to dinner under the pretense of meeting a friend of his, though Sara quickly discovered that this was a trap for which she was the bait. Now, because the Legion of Blood believes that Cyrus killed Sara instead of ( )inging her back alive, he has been sentenced to laundry duty.

Sybille taught Jessamy how to speak the language of Enaste and Gauvain taught her how to fight after she expressed interest–Gauvain used to be a warrior himself. One morning, Jessamy found both of her adoptive parents lying dead on the floor with no visible signs of how they died. She was convinced that they had been murdered. Jessamy took up arms and left the house, travelling across Enaste to exact justice, avenge her advoptive parents' deaths, and perhaps even find her mother if she was still alive.

His parents disapproved and disowned him, but Rowan became more determined than ever. He hoped to prove himself through power and wealth, but of course he failed to realize that this wouldn’t appeal to his parents. Over time it became less about his sister and more about his reputation. It doesn’t help that his crew pushes him on, constantly competing and occasionally threatening mutiny. He’s now a sort of "dread pirate Roberts" (Princess Bride, anyone?), the scourge of the skies as he likes to be called.

Summarized background
Kalypso is the daughter of a very wealthy, prominent family. She spent most of her life causing trouble and not taking life seriously, which annoyed her family greatly. When she was twenty, she decided to take a trip to see some friends on another island but her ship was hijacked by Rowan's pirate crew. They soon realized that they had made a mistake–they had meant to attack a different ship carrying a large amount of luxury items–but they covered this up and proceeded to take all of the most valuable passengers (including Kalypso) onto their own ship. There, Kalypso caught Rowan's attention by her endless cheek and threatening statements. Rowan asks her if she's ever considered becoming a pirate and Kalypso agrees to his offer to let her join his crew. She quickly became known as the most ruthless and surprisingly talented member aboard the ship, climbing in rank until she became Rowan's first mate only three years later. Her parents believe her to be dead.

(this is all tentative until I confirm with @Sorachan that this can work) When she was young, Ti'inrani was diagnosed with some sort of terminal illness. She has managed to survive for quite some time, but every time the disease flares up it leaves immense scarring. Once the scarring reaches her vital organs, she will likely die. Ti'inrani's parents (from a reasonably upper class family), especially her mother, try to hide her away because they see her as tainted (or, as they like to put it, too delicate to go out into society). Ti'inrani has spent her time working with her friend, Makai'o, to try and discover some kind of cure for her disease but so far they have found nothing.
