Technically, the twilight realm is not a world, but rather another layer of reality. It is overlapped with our earthly realm, better be described as a room separated by a one-way mirror, humans reside in one half, while the shadowlings dwell in another. The semipermeable barrier between realities allows only some of the shadow dwellers to travel freely between realms. Crossing over is generally out of the ability of earthly residents, but if being led by a creature of the other side, a human still has his/her chance to sneak a peek at the realm's darkly splendor. In one word, this realm is simply another earth, but wilder, less inhabited, less explored and less exploited. All kinds of mythical creatures (faes, griffins, pegasuses, dragons are however, considered rare and divine.) roam freely on the world's mountainous and lush surface. While hidden deep underground are alien minerals known only to and can be harnessed by few. Ancient ruins scatter amougst the flourished vegetation. The climate on this side is generally colder and more humid. By daytime the sky is dimmer and has a purple hue. By nighttime, the stars appear larger and shine (
)ight pale blue. The moon, also magnifies in size, appear to have a faint ring around it. The most explored and developed part of the Twilight Realm is a vast land equivalent to Europe and central Asia in our world. Though in there the Britain island still attaches to the European mainland, and the Mediterranean sea is much larger. The Twilight Realm is the explanation to many paranormal activities such as mysterious disappears and strange sightings. Though stand individually, the two realms, earth and twilight, bind to and effect each other profoundly. The portal between realms are reflective surfaces (mirror, water surface etc.). |
