Taligoyan ballad is part of the Gleams of Aeterna series
The story takes place 400 years before the main series. It describes the end of Taligoya and birth of new country - Talig. Francis Ollar besieges the capital, Kabitela. King Ernany Racan and his supporters cannot resist Ollar's armies. Ernany abdicates, for himself, Prince Ercule and his descendants, and names duke Alva and duke Epinay his "place holders", giving them the right to make Francis Ollar the King and dethrone him, if he turns to be unworthy. But Ernany's will was kept in secret, so when Ramiro Alva surrenders the capital to Francis, he gains nickname the Traitor.
Francis ascends to the crown and declares new religion, in which the King is the Head of the Church. Later he uses it to canonise his wife, Queen Octavia, former duches Alva.
Saint Octavia becomes the most esteemed saint for the Alvas and the Ollars, she is thought to be their patron and protector. |
