| One of the Two Blue Wizards, Allatar is also known by the name given to her by the Elves, Yaara Lote or Ancient Flower. Her name among men and other races is Morinehtar, or Darkness-Slayer.
After having initially failed in her mission to clear spiders from the Greenwood, Yaara traveled West to Rivendell and remained there as a protector and guide to all of Elvenkind. She had a small following for awhile, but these disciples eventually left her, using their powers to their own will. All records of her presence there are now gone, and the few who know of her are Gandalf, Aragorn, Elrond, Galadriel and Saruman.
She has one assistant and pupil left, Sindie (sin-dee-ay), a human adopted by Lord Elrond, who is her confidant and the only person close to her. |
