| Choose the 'Contiguous Selection Tool'. Under 'Tool Options' to the side, check the 'Limit to current layer' box. If your background color is nowhere on the doll itself, you can try to use the 'Select similar color tool' instead, but I personally have more luck with the other one. Now click the blank background on your FD doll and look at the dotted lines that appear--checking to make sure nothing is selected that you don't want to be selected. Inkscribble games have a thick, black outline, so this isn't going to be a problem, but games with colored outlines you may have to watch more closely. However, if you've been following this tutorial closely, it should be alright. If it looks good, press 'Delete' on your keyboard (possibly a couple times) and then go on to select other pockets of background color around the doll (like in the crook of her arm) and do the same.
