As though that weren't complicated enough, Wolf Calling possesses a genie aura as well, having wished herself into the blue gem. Under her standard Ifrit-like appearance, the fey female's eyes now gleam temporarily red against her darkly dyed skin. This doesn't matter a jot, however, as no one can perceive it. Once those two are in position and have had time to attract Zephyr's attention, Springing Doe communicates the all clear to the trio who have been sneaking up to a different cave mouth.

Beneath the awning of the same tent used by Syura and Summer Wind on their initial trip across the desert, Springing Doe watches as her sibling and Ifrit the Huntress boldly approach the entrance to Zephyr's dwelling. Oddly enough, Ifrit is, at the moment, her normal blue color to the naked eye, as she is using her own magic to generate the illusion that she is not camouflaged to appear human. Thus, her aura currently identifies her as fey. She is also seemingly in completely imaginary bonds.

Springing Doe has the least dangerous, but not least important, role. She is to stay with the camels and play lookout. Her necklace has been enchanted to give off signals audible only to human magic-workers, meaning her sister, Smoke Cat Watching, Summer Wind, and Syura. The shaman is to go with the two women who have been inside Zephyr's cavernous home, where they will conduct a search for young Ifrit. The disguised djinn female herself and Song the Wolf Calling will provide a distraction.
