I have high hopes that another ship may be in this area, or at least that it will be in the near future," Jade River offers.

Vaguely I remember falling into the ocean, regaining consciousness periodically to find myself clutching some bit of flotsam, and finally awakening completely after I'd been stranded on the beach here." "You're lucky to be alive," comments Silver Fox, providing the man with his true name, since he has no reputation as the captain of the fiercest pirate ship afloat like Estel.

Everyone gets to their feet as the stranger approaches. By tacit agreement, they wait for him to speak first. "Hello," he says cordially. "I am Jade River. Were you swept overboard in the storm as well, or cast adrift in a longboat? I have seen no ship..." Naturally, the group from the Firebrand are somewhat mystified by this statement. "I am Estel," Shooting Star introduces herself cautiously. "Are you alone here? I gather that you were washed overboard from your ship in the recent gale."
