This is not to say that Miss is above praising a lesson well learned or a difficult accomplishment achieved; she believes in rewarding excellence. It is merely that she also seems to expect excellence, although she doesn't condemn anything other than tardiness. If Sable is ever disappointed, she certainly doesn't show it. In fact, White Rose knows that the Governess thinks highly of her, because the woman once volunteered the information that she researches her charges before accepting them.

In short, it is not easy to like Sable, and she shows no sign of caring that this is so. She has a job to do, and she is utterly professional regarding its performance. In the time that they have spent travelling from the northern town to the Capitol City of the Central Kingdom, White Rose cannot think of a single hard fact that she has learned about her Governess as a person, except that she is allergic to asparagus. The woman is never tired, never cranky, never bored... just like a machine.

She is not, as some companions are, in any way interested in becoming friends with her student. As far as Miss is concerned, her private life is private and will remain that way. White Rose, to be fair, has to concede that if so much of her days were devoted to attending to the social and academic needs of someone else, she might want what little spare time was accorded to her to remain off limits as a topic of conversation. Neither does the Governess encourage sharing of anything with her.
