| Jeanette had left the cabin to find solitude in the presence of the Lord. She had quite a challenge before her and she knew that she needed God's intervention. She took her Bible with her and opened to a favorite Scripture which read In the morning, O Lord , you hear my voice: in the morning I lay my request before you and wait in expectation. Each day she would come and seek the guidance of the Lord God and He faithfully would order her steps in a plain path. As she prayed she heard the answer in her heart. Tears of joy streamed down her cheeks as she got off her knees. God had confirmed that she was called to serve in the field of nursing. She would have to leave home for months to study anatomy and other subjects and when she finished her course she would return home to take care of the ailing poor in the village. |
