Marea and Draensil, linked to Isthare's surface thoughts in the scry, felt her frustration. "I can't identify what they are," the expectant mother fumed. "That in itself isn't evidence they're Iretmoses, but it does fit the profile," Marea informed everyone else presently. "And the ability of the woman to manipulate Vedika into obeying her orders through enchantment doesn't absolutely rule out other races; however, it is consistent with the Snake-Eyed." Draensil sounded discouraged nevertheless.

She was unable to tell through the dark mirror, however, what kind of spell the woman was casting, or what the woman looked like. Isthare's scry refused to move beyond the perpetrator's shadow. It was the same with the man and Vedika, although the Nemesis Sister could catch a glimpse of Tiger occasionally. Nor could she discern where exactly they were, except that it seemed to be somewhere snowy. There WAS an echo Isthare could sense, though, of... maybe... a third person in a warmer place.

Today, Isthare's gifts were cooperating, and she had surprisingly little difficulty in locating Vedika's oracular signature in the ether, as Marea had become familiar with it already. From there, she was able to 'feel around' for the people nearest the 'teen' girl. Ah, there was an impression of Oakenling, obviously Tiger, drifting on the fuzzy boarder line of consciousness. And there... there were the shadows of a man and a woman. The man was toting the groggy boy; the woman was working magic.

Therefore, since this method of searching for suspected Snake-Eyed didn't require any training, just Marea's grid crystals, her clear quartz ball, and her piece of obsidian to resonate with Isthare's distant mirror, they settled on putting this plan in motion that morning before anyone, especially the pregnant dark Witch, could overtire. Initially Marea found it difficult to express her powers in a way that "jibed" with Isthare's, but in this she had Draensil's example to follow, which helped.

That news was more or less neutral. And finally, the Snake-Eyed would and did backtrack any scry for them which they were able to perceive, and attempt to control the mind of the seer. That was decidedly bad news. Nevertheless, Orandor agreed with Ooneil and the two young Witches who intended to synch with Isthare when she performed her magic, both that the obsidian mirror had the potential to catch the Iretmoses unprepared, and that having Marea and Draensil to protect her should suffice.
