Thanks so much, Lexia!! It's partly based on an outfit from the Disney "Mulan 2", but I put my own spin on it. One of the things I missed most about choosing "Mulan" for my Disney rewrite was getting to make pretty clothes, so I'm indulging myself now!

Love the idea that Mulan is both a blade and a blossom! As well do I love this outfit you've created it's really interesting and the colours are so bright they pop off the screen!

Li Shang caught one, thinking of when he’d first come to her home, and she’d spoken of Mulan blooms. It wasn’t difficult for Mulan herself to guess what was in his mind. "So, you’re trying to tell me the blossom defines me more than the blade?" she asked. "No, I'm saying you're both, and all the more precious for it." "I'll consider it."

"What?" Shang uttered reflexively, half afraid he hadn't heard Mulan correctly. She shrugged. "I love you." Then she sighed. "And it doesn't matter. I can't make this decision based on purely selfish reasons." Still looking past him, tears were now trembling on Mulan's lashes. "I can't! Can you imagine what the world would be like if the owner of the Sword of the Heroine did exactly as she pleased, with no regard for duty, or honor, or responsibility?" "Mulan, you're nothing like that!"

"If you don't want to marry me, fine," Shang told her, though it cost him a pang. "Then wed someone else, or stay single if you prefer, but don't go all the way to Mongolia. Don't sacrifice your happiness merely because you believe it to be in everyone's best interests." His voice turned hard. "I've had enough of you making choices for everyone else by yourself because you think it's for the greater good." Mulan focused past him, and her voice was nearly inaudible. "I love you, Li Shang."

"I... there isn't really any choice to make, Shang." Mulan's damp eyes plead for understanding. "I've sworn a vow to the Emperor, to serve China..." Li Shang closed his own eyes. "I hate myself for mentioning it, Mulan, but it has to be said. You still have the Sword of the Heroine; there are other ways in which you could protect China against the Mongols." He lifted his lashes and gazed at her. "You could put your trust in that, and in me and my men. You could have faith in me, Mulan."
