In addition, plans are made to set out in the Swan, the royal sailing ship, to meet the Firebrand, whether it's still being fixed or underway again when they intercept it. This proposal cannot be implemented immediately, of course, as time is needed for the assorted inquiries into the storm-brewing incident to bear fruit, however the king and queen of the Island Archipelago will be going to sea with as little delay as possible, and promise to bring Irayo and Nitram with them on their expedition.

The sight is comforting in that it is now certain that the Firebrand survived the storm, and its damages don't look very disabling, but obviously it isn't the best of news that the ship is delayed due to necessary repairs, and possible injuries. Unfortunately, the court magician can't speak directly with Uncle Anduin, as they neither share fragments of the same charged object, nor are they members of the same family. However, from now on, Galad and Rian intend to keep abreast of the situation.

Before the worried parents have time to fret too much, Queen Rian, a relatively new mother herself, has the presence of mind to ask the court magician to scry for the current whereabouts of the Firebrand. Irayo, aware that the royal couple still don't know Estel's real name and that searching for "Shooting Star" will be useless, suggests that the lady use Uncle Anduin, a fellow magic-worker, as a focus. This is duly done, and the woman is able to visualize the beached ship on the paired islands.

While the queen busies herself giving several other orders regarding investigation into the matter as a whole, King Galad kindly fills Irayo and Nitram in on certain details which, in their secluded reunion, they didn't know. That Shooting Star is acting captain for this voyage, the former ship's cook views as a definite plus, and Silver Fox is always useful, as well. However, an unknown young girl with potential political enemies who might want to prevent her reaching her destination, is not.
