Thanks lots, MizM!! Yes, Catleya is graceful as a normal baseline, which should help her dancing; it's merely something that she's forgotten or never really learned to do.

"Your moral code may not be the same as mine, but I do understand that you follow one," the cleric continues. "I don't want to debate. That's not why I came. Will you teach me to dance, or won't you?" Catleya says, her feelings hurt by his hasty judgement in a way that she can't explain. "Of course. Will you cease simply appearing in my room whenever it's convenient for you and contact me like a normal person?" "I don't know," she admits, weighing the question. "Fair enough," he grins.

Catleya ignores that comment as irrelevant, as well. "Is there still enough time for me to learn, or must I pray to Nocturnia for some illness or other excuse?" Velen's response is sharper than he means it to be. "Don't pray for harm!" he says. Startled, Catleya nearly drops her knife. "I wouldn't," she tells him softly. "I don't. I've never asked Nocturnia even for success in any venture but gardening. And I pick and choose my targets, Velen." "I know," he answers softly. "I'm sorry."

"You know, Catleya, you could just come to see me during normal hours," Velen says mildly. She doesn't even deign to answer this trivial remark. "Why are you here?" "Your mother!" she tells him. "Oh, the ball? I was commanded to come as well. But it won't be as bad as you think," he replies, "probably." "It will! I can't dance! I thought you claimed to know me; how did that fact escape your attention?" Now his face shows consternation. "You are so graceful, I guess I just assumed..."

Consequently, again she sneaks into the Temple at dawn. This time, however, Catleya is tired enough from her virtually non-stop dancing attempts that she actually falls asleep in Velen's bed while waiting for him to retire for the day. He has been saying late prayers, and is somewhat sleepy, too, but not beyond smiling at Catleya for a moment and watching her totally disarmed by slumber. "Yes, it seems that you do trust me," he breathes. Instantly she wakes, alert, holding a throwing knife.
