a very fun challenge :) the fungi ended up being more abstract in the actual outfit, but i really like how she looks like a dark nature spirit.
my assigned fungi was cribraria argillacea. i was inspired by how this fungi clusters together in nature, which all the gray-blue beading represents. i loved the prominent black veins/roots on the fungi, which i incorporated into the bodice and shoe detailing,and the skirt patterning. the blue gray color was challenging, because blues on UCD are very vibrant, so in order to get the hues on the front of the dress and the leotard i had to so many layers of draggies. the sheer parts are supposed to look wet, like the fungi |
