Cont... I'd also like to thank-you for your compliments. The inspiration comes from a love of Jane Austen. I was concerned that it was too understated to be noticed, but I felt so uncomfortable in formfitting gowns & desperately wanted to wear lace.

Miss (Eliza) Washington's reply to the judges. I'm not sure what one attribute would enable me to be a successful Miss USA but I believe that my job as a nurse shows that my communication skills are good enough to support and help others even though I am not an overly extrovert person.

My reply to the judges: As a young child I used to design clothes for my toys. Now I spend most of my time doing needlework. I like blackwork embroidery & longstitch tapestry and I read a lot. I love learning about the history of fashion. Clothes can tell you so much about a person. Not just the era, but status & personality too. The clothes of the past definitely inform the designs of the present.

The judges really think she looks pretty in this blue evening gown. The royal blue is very becoming to this contestant and they really like the overall effect of the gown. The designer Wren captured every detail that this contestant wanted and used a maker that makes any design trendy. She is definitely a trendy contestant and this is a great look for her. Though trendy it is not a design that compromises modesty and that is important in this competition in one of the judges opinion.
