| For this challenge, I was given Amphibians, and decided to represent the Dendrobatidae family, better known as Poison Dart Frogs. They are so called because certain indigenous tribes of Central and South America, where they live, have used their toxins to tip their arrows. An interesting thing which I didn't know about Poison Dart Frogs, is that the more brilliantly colored they are, the more toxic they tend to be. Some members of this family are much more drab, and not very toxic at all. Needless to say, I chose to make a patchwork of the more colorful frogs' patterns. As nearly all of them have black spots for contrast, my doll became progressively more Goth, and I just went with that. Also the "touch me not" vibe seemed appropriate to me, and the black took on special meaning, as much of their rain forest habitat is endangered.
