| Pelamis platura, commonly known as the yellow-bellied sea snake, or pelagic sea snake, is a species of sea snake found in tropical oceanic waters around the world, excluding the Atlantic Ocean. Evolutionarily they are related to the cobra family, having a highly neurotoxic venom, although it is less deadly than many aquatic snakes.
