| Step 3: add more of the dark blue to the skirt where you believe shadow will fall for both the top and folds. Add highlight to top. Blend.
Tip: when shading decide on a source of light and all highlights and folds will show the light color in those spots. The opposite side and folds should then be the darkest shade.
The more complex dresses and folds require more than 3 shades. I often spend hours just mixing the colors to create the depth. This one by contrast was a 10 min doll with the most basic work done. |
