Hmm... BBC's Merlin isn't really a reference if you want to learn more about the Arthurian legend. Actually I think this doll is much more true to the legend than what we can see on TV.
How its spelled and what she looks like/who she is depends on the mythos/legend you're looking at. There's the original legend which says one thing, then sprouting modern legends and atv show that don't really always work with each other.
nice, although it's actually Gwen not Guin. And she was actually a servant girl, dark skin and hair until Prince Arthur fell in love with her and made her Queen. Morgana was supposed to be queen until she founnd out she had magic and of course, as you probably know, used it for bad, and Merlin saved the day, (lol) and then Queen Gwen and King Arthur ruled the kingdom in peace, and since King Uther hated magic and executed anyone who had it, Arthur changed that rule and made those with magic free
