Women are actually quite equal to men, working in almost every field. I like to imagine, that only the world WE live in treats women as inferior. Of course there is work that women will be better at, just as most women won't exatcly choose to become a miner... But there is quite a big number of female soldiers for example. Usually your proffession would be passed down to you by your parents. No choice for anyone.

Thanks Sora, BB and Written! She didn't choose to become a courtesan but was Born into the Courtesan-palace. A fate shared with many other children of courtesans. So it's Kind of a hereditary Thing. In this house she got an artistic education with Focus on singing and dancing. But also history lessons, literature and learning Magic tricks (Illusions, Card tricks, nothing fancy, although some courtesans do get very good at These things).

Soldiers make out a big chunk of the Population due to the constant state of war with the neighbouring lands in pursute of wealth and power. Not much grows outside of the city so a lot of money is needed to Import goods from the surrounding towns- townspeople who concentrate on farming and mining are only found in the outscirts of the City.

I'm probably gonna suck explaining but here goes: So you have a King and his courtiers as well as noblemen who are very wealthy but don't work much, a very strong and healthy middle class of workig People who are also the only ones allowed to fight in the army (which is also the most rewarding type of Job as Knights and soldiers are also allowed to Keep their loot), and then there are the lowest class of People who work in the furnaces and lowest tiers of the City doing menial work.

(I've got a Social exam tomorrow so Economics has taught me to ask you about the Economic Development of The City cx) And you are most definitely not imposing!
