This reminds me of a book I absolutely loved as a kid, not because it was terribly good but because the main character lived in an underwater dome house and one entire wall of his bedroom was glass with a view of the coral reef they were situated near. And he had a dolphin instead of a dog. I was _so envious_ of that kid.
