I don't know if it bothers you that she took your doll and hasn't gone and accredited it to you. It bothers me to see that she has it posted and hasn't put that it is originally your doll.
Yes, the doll being simple was definitely a necessity for this one. If she were too fancy, the piece as a whole would become overcrowded. The doll's simplicity actually allows her to stand out some, whereas if she too were patterned, it would not be that way.
