The camel lurched along beneath Tashmitum's seat as she pondered her prospective rise in rank. Astoundingly, the Archmage was now allowing her assistant brief respites from mesmerizing the captive girl by subjugating the Witch's mind herself, so the sorceress had leisure to indulge in deeper thought than was usually possible of late. For a moment, Tashmitum believed she might have sensed something... something that felt like magic... a mental probe?... and instantly she swatted it like a fly.

Still, they were less than a day's journey from delivering the Witch into the hands of High Priest Isfathotep at the Hibernatorium. There the ceremony could be carried out and the girl's glorious purpose would then be fulfilled. More importantly to Tashmitum, or nearly so since for an Iretmose personal comfort was subsidiary to the good of all, things would finally go back to normal; her place inside the Hibernatorium as Archmage Kemat's primary Acolyte would be assured, and her favor increased.

That would be only the beginning, and it would be child's play for the Iretmoses. She and Kemat were by no means the only mages left, nor was Isfathotep the last priest. Much, much could and would be done to destroy humanity's horrid, buzzing, itch-inducing world. First, however, the Snake-Eyed must deal with the remnants of the fae, and these new creatures... Bloodborn, and Oakenlings, and Witches. And before that could commence, Tashmitum must endure several more hours swaying on camelback.

Tashmitum could hardly wait! While they might be few in number, now, the Snake-Eyed were a powerful and mighty people. There was little they could not accomplish. What if, for example, instead of shifting a sailboat through Tiamat's Dream, Kemat had chosen to pull a ship upon the deep ocean into that Void... and leave it there? Or what if, for instance, the collective energy of the Iretmose civilization were used to create an unstable interdimensional rift in one... or more... of their cities?
