Belandvyn shivered. "What's wrong?" Tylyr asked. "That water is going to be really cold," the Maenad teased; I'm only practicing. She sobered slightly. "What kind of a commotion are you planning to cause, just so we're ready and not surprised into doing anything rash," the Fae queried. "Tylyr chuckled. "I think I'm going to surrender." "Oh?" Marea was curious as well. "I'm a man. And my eyes are golden... if you ignore the black sclera. They should be thrilled to see me," he smirked.

"All right, then, the plan stands with the slight modification that now Tylyr escapes through the poppies before disappearing into the woods. Actually, that's better," Marea smiled brightly. "Belandvyn, you stick close behind me and you'll be fine. Then, when it's time for us to leave the tower, we can take the water gate, since I won't be able to retrace my steps without fail like a Ghillie Dhu." Tylyr bowed. "Once you see that we're safely out of the tower, you can join us in the river."

"So, time for a new plan, I guess," Belandvyn said, frustrated. "Maybe not..." Marea replied thoughtfully. "Tylyr, as a Ghillie Dhu, can you remember exactly where I put my feet, and put yours exactly there while running the opposite way through a field of flowers?" "Yes, of course, although I'll have to shorten my stride a bit," the Fae grinned. "But I'll bet a Yeled can't." "No, I'm thinking a Yeled or Yalda would have to go around the field in order to pursue you," Marea agreed, nodding.

Luckily, Marea was paying attention to all of her crystals and talismans, because, just as they were about to cross the poppy field, a silvery filament enclosed in a glass sphere began to go crazy. It was a magnet, somewhat magically amplified. "Wait," the young Light Sister whispered to her two companions. "I think this is a mine field." "A what?" asked Belandvyn. "A place where the ground explodes if touched," Tylyr replied grimly, apparently more familiar with landmines than the Maenad.

Two were currently out on night patrol, which was why Marea, Tylyr, and Belandvyn were lurking in the nearby woods until the pair had crossed to the far side of the tower. The plan was for the Ghillie Dhu to create a diversion, drawing as many Yelaadim outside as he could, before fleeing to the woods. Meanwhile, the Maenad would have shot a grappling hook up over the side wall of the tower, and Marea would subdue the few remaining Yelaadim with a sleep spell. Basic, yet hopefully, effective.
