It turns out that the juggler has been directed to follow Deva and Nimuel, and identify them to anyone who came looking for the pair. He doesn't know who exactly initiated these orders; they reached him through a fence of stolen goods who the street performer worked with occasionally. The acrobat is likewise ignorant of what fate the travelers were supposed to suffer at the hands of whatever ruffians were searching for them, but he believes it would be a mere beating for intimidation purposes.
