It does, after all, sometimes pay to be cautious, and the extra reach will prevent the tedious ship's captain from thoroughly awakening this time and damaging Jade Black Rose's human pawn. Now, however, it seems that luck is finally favoring Her Majesty once again. Events that she thought would be, if not disastrous, then certainly setbacks for her, have turned out most fortuitously. Fate has placed within her grasp not only the general of the army that defeated her troops, and the upstart who dares to call herself heir to the Evening Gate, but furthermore a traitorous cabal sister, and a target of her underling's. She'd planned to strangle the woman, but a weapon would be better.

Working through her puppet is grueling, but she is able to dominate him sporadically, and in fact cast spells beyond his ability to perform. Really, he should have nothing to complain about, as it is due to Jade Black Rose's intervention that he is alive at all. But it was vital that she retain this link to the living world in order to carry out her nefarious plans. For entirely too long, the former queen was merely an impotent ghost, too insubstantial even to properly haunt her erstwhile foes.

What keeps Jade Black Rose coalesced into a sentient being is her unswerving focus on death, specifically, the deaths of those responsible for killing her. However, her spirit being an ambitious one, the late queen doesn't limit her thirst for revenge to the enemies she had as a living woman; she's quite pleased to add new names to her roster of people she has marked to die. Also, now she has a minion... he considers himself an ally, the fool!... and his desires for murder must be met, as well.
