Woooo they're going to Russia? That is a long journey, but witches have gryphons...and spells for long-distance travel, Hawkeye can fly...I figure that's not a big deal...XD

The Witches returned to Ynarra's cottage, with no doubt that Hawkeye would find them in the morning. Brin had been unusually silent all night, and busied herself making up beds.

"You will find her... here," Marea says finally, and shining a red beam of light into the crystal, the beam emerges from the opposite side as a perfect tableau of what she is seeing, although bathed in red light. As her family and the Oakenling watch, the forest crashes in upon the scene as she shifts the focus out, it is now a local map, still further, a regional map with the location of Chasina still a bright crimson dot, and finally a topological map of Russia and surrounding countries.

She took from a special velvet pouch, an oval crystal perhaps the length of her thumb, which threw out opalescent shards of rainbow light in all directions. Marea stared into this for long minutes, as it spun slowly at the apex of her staff. "I see snow. Snow future not snow past. It is Russia, perhaps. Chasina the white wolf slips between light and shadow in this hardwood forest like... well, like a Ghost. None are near her, and she does not seem to be afraid, although as always, alert."
